^Agreed Map is fun! Anymore planned driveways? I really would love some at alot of the houses so when people back up they rear end parked cars when turning.
It's gonna be a little while. I do have more progress, just not enough to bother showing off, but I'm trying to situate the southern portion of the map, so as to give a bit of a backdrop to the existing map in at least a single direction. That way screens taken facing South shouldn't have the obvious grid in the background. More driveways are planned, but the only district that the map contains at present is more of a rear-access parking neighborhood, hence the alleyways. There will be areas with only front-access parking properties, though.
Also a couple of suggestions, Maybe a house that was burned down and has police tape everywhere around it. I think it would fit around nicely and maybe some houses have bars on the outside windows. Make this a pure neighborhood lol.
Quick new update! There's about 30% more map, and while that's not much, it should make a better background when looking south than the grid that preceded it in the original release. I've also worked the roads seamlessly into the heightmap (thanks, Hutch) and have added some loose parking lot details here and there. Unfortunately, a glitch of unknown origin seems to have taken light cookies out of the equation, so the night rendering is a bit of a hit-and-miss right now. If you have any ideas as to how to repair this, please let me know. Edit, below: Thanks, fixed!
Hey, so I just got the newer version of the map, and I noticed that there was an error with the terrain files and that they won't load for some strange reason. The error message popped up and did suggest that the files might be missing if that helps any. Please try to fix soon and thanks!
No issues what so ever on the latest build. Looking nicer and nicer as it grows! It's a ton of fun being a total terrorist in this map.
This map is good and fun to dive but I found some collision issues. This is the dead end alleyway in the center. All of this type of house have this issue.
That house never did have the staircase covered in the collision mesh. I'll have to add that later. As for the curb collision mesh, I've already fixed this in my copy, and will be releasing a another patch soon.
i cant use this... it spawn me thousands feet elow the map. Houses and prop are also below the map... grond has no texture
Are you using the latest version? Did you copy the .zip file into your /mods/ directory? Post a screenshot of the error message and/or your console (~).
I had to take it down to upload the newest patch. Unfortunately, the file took 20 minutes to not do anything, and I had to leave for the weekend. We'll see if the next one does any better. Okay, then. The newest patch fixes the alleyway collisions, and adds another sign to the strip mall. Yes, the design is deliberately hideous.
