Dunno, if you really want to give the FATT a 300 mph top speed like KITT has it would need to have a stupid amount of horsepower.
What is Williams Int’l. Also i assume you know how gas turbines feel. How does it drive, is it realistic?
Changelog’s in the updates part of the mod page. You have like reviews/ updates and stuff you should find it there
the R35 mod can go up to 600km/h with ~1600HP
The problem with an automobile gas turbine is that the torque goes from an awful lot of torque to none in a linear way like this: So the challenge is indeed interesting
Anotger update hehe: I’m proceeding to make another small patch as some things are lacking in the mod currently. It’s not a large scale update bc the new 3D model isn’t coming yet as of now. The update rn will simply consist of some tuning parts (you’ll be able to choose between a mechanical and an electronic injector) as well as a bew jbeam basis: the Bluebuck’s I6 as it serves as a better basis than the V8 and as of now without its jbeam changes, it weighs less and this weight represents the actual vehicle’s weight more accurately. This should come out later this week probably
currently this mod isnt that realistic, one idea i have is to make a weak engine then add a turbo that takes a bit too spool up that makes enough pressure and has no sound, so when you pull away from a stop without revving the engine or anything the turbo spools up and the engine struggles at first but then it gets going in a way that simulates the poor throttle response/sluggishness at low rpm
I believe my car is rather realistic as the actual Chrysler Turbine isn’t that unrealistic and is more or less as sluggish as mine as it featured some anti-lag system in order for the engine to be rather normal. However, for older models of turbines (ie: 1950’s turbines, your solution is very elegant although it would require some testing). For the GGT122a look at the footage of Jay Leno driving his turbine car. It’s not that sluggish as it is believed to be.
yeah well currently i can feel that the engine DOES want to go fast even from a stop, but it feels like its dragging a concrete block instead of just being sluggish
two tons is probably the weight of a big pickup not a car but okay. anyways from what ive heard the turbine car COULD accelerate fast but throttle response was slow and it got poor power at low rpm
Well yes it could accelerate quickly if it were in small car, but what small car would take the weight and size of the mill ?. Also many if not most fullsize cars from the late '50s to the mid '70s were two tons and over, plus it may not seem like it but the Bluebuck is actually quite large, its styling seems rather deceitful and plays down its excessively large dimensions
With a V8 the Bluebuck weighs 1.7 and bits tons which yeah make it heavy. However with its gas turbine it only weighs 1580kgs. Yeah the throttle response is slow but im not sure it has low power on low rpms bc of its torque curve on the turbine if you look closely Hey if anyone of us would like to help me with coding or with texturing you’re very much welcome
still, the sluggishness is still pretty ridiculous with how it just feels like the flywheel is made of a concrete slab
Hey @Bibianjou is there a way to contact you? i really like this mod and would love to maybe make a body more similar to the turbine car
Hey. Sure send me a PM i’ll give you my discord --- Post updated --- Yeah i get it. Well, once i release this patch which you will deem unsatisfying. I will try your technique on the Burnside special especially in order to give it some good engine lag like you always wanted. Well yeah but a turbine needs some sluggishness don’t you agree it’s not an E-motor
Yeah i get it. Well, once i release this patch which you will deem unsatisfying. I will try your technique on the Burnside special especially in Good question. I'd say burnside but that's just a guess. Take it or leave it
i feel like the burnside is lighter, but i havent tested, maybe its because its more styled like its from the early 50s instead of the late 50s with huge fins and stuff
