With this, ATE-ona speedway, and the latemodel looking close to completion the future of the NASCAR community of BeamNG is looking bright!
It depends on the roof flaps. With them, they might not occur at all. Without them, they might occur anywhere from 150 mph onwards. Roof flaps were implemented in '93, and the production run of the D-Series was '88 to '94, so it depends on the year of the D-Series you use as a base.
I am not worrying to much about the year the truck was "in production" mainly because the NASCAR truck series wasnt run until 1995 The model does have roof flaps wich i plan on making fully functional but blowovers do still occur or at least the back end can get some serious air --- Post updated --- Aparently the NASCAR trucks surprizingly have the highest downforce of the the main series. Higher than the xfinity series and much higher than the cup series So maybe it will actualy have a high chance of getting airborn once that downforce is put in reverse
Exactly Also the roof flaps will be an aditional part that can be removed in the parts menu So this can be tested Although i think the wing on my model is a bit small compared to the wings on the current spec cars Im not sure about the 1995 cars I might make two wings of different sizes
you asked about a sound...I found this https://www.beamng.com/threads/engine-sounds-for-custom-moonhawk.37618/#post-563477 I use this sound in my game, I have a high power car pack and I got an engine that revs to 8000RPM and it sound's like a Nascar this is a video I made awhile back, it may need a few tweaks but it is a great base, make sure you ask the creator for permission though (this video wasn't made to show off the sound but it does give you an idea of ehat it sounds like, would make a video dedicated to it but I'm too lazy, if you need it without the slow motion though then I will)
In terms of destruction. How will it perform? e.g. body panels coming off and revealing the skeleton of the car..
What are the different pody panels made of? I know most are sheet steel but what about the front and rear panels?
I think so Mainly judging by how detailed they are Its more like a mould than the hand make panels that make up the rest of the car
They are, as far as I could find, made of fiberglass. --- Post updated --- Actually, I was wrong. I just found this article: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-racing/nascar/nascar-basics/nascar2.htm I don't know when this was written though.
