BUT, Hoosiers are the best tires. Period. Notice that I am a hillbilly who only gets to watch local stock car racing, so I am extremely biased. But Hoosiers can even be used offroad! Like in the Choirboy Formula Offroad truck.

NASCAR is a wild series and the crashes that occur can be put down to a number of factors, things like aero, loss of grip, mechanical failure or simply a driver running out of talent at a crucial moment. i dont think we need to argue back and forth about weather crashes are down to aero or grip because it could be one of them, both or neither, we as racing fans on the internet couldn't know for sure. so why dont we all just be friends and tell old Matty why the mesh for his mod wont load in the right f*cking place (see main post and please HELP ME!). k thanks.
    p.s. loving your enthusiasm

don't the NASCAR trucks use hoosier tires for the mud summer dirt race at Eldora speedway
there's an idea who wants dirt track tires????

At those speeds they really don't have much leeway. Just look at F1 cars, they require their spoilers for a reason.

Exactly this. There's a reason why the NASCAR series stay almost exclusively on ovals.
For example, the series beneath the Monster Series races at Road America. This is always an entertaining race, because the drivers have to slow down, and then accelerate hard multiple times per lap. Trying to accelerate out of a corner in an 800+ HP rear-wheel drive brick is challenging, to say the least.

Generally meshes spawning in the wrong place are usually a side effect of incorrectly configured translation/rotation of objects in Blender
    Capture.png
The yellow highlighted section must be set to 0, otherwise it will cause problems in-game

Also, might be worth checking if the jbeam translation modifiers aren't causing any issues

    that makes perfect sense thankyou
    im looking into it now
    --- Post updated ---
yep that fixed the issue. the x rotation in blender was set to -180 which is probably what caused the inverted rotation issue

    thanks so much

Your front end here should probably only be 3 rows max, instead of 5.

Yeah i now realise from playing around with it in game that the beams and nodes need to match up with the segments in the mesh for it to deform without glitches

Pretty much, in an ideal world you would have a node placed at every vert of the model, which in theory would cause no mesh stretching, however the jbeam would be far too complex, resulting in awful framerate and little jbeam rigidity/stability. Basically, you want to find a compromise between having good deformation properties but also maintaining structural integrity and a decent framerate:)
That said, it's a good idea to make sure all of the jbeam nodes are touching or very close to a vert in the model. Think of it as an LOD model;)

Please excuse me whilst i double check what a LOD model is
    --- Post updated ---
    Ok i remember now
Yes that makes perfect sense to think of it as a LOD model
A low polly version of the mesh

Looked at this again because its looking absolutely amazing and I can't wait until its finished
For a couple months I was helping out with a modified team that runs with the Modified Touring Series, Valenti Modified Racing Series, and Tri Track Open Modified Series, and I have this video from it. I don't know if this would be useful in any way at all, but even if it isn't, still was looking for an excuse to post this somewhere.

Here's some pictures that I have of the car itself, again not sure if any of these will help but oh well

Actually, the air was taken off his spoiler, causing him to spin. Didn't I just say that?

    Holy fucking shit people.

The creator is striving for accuracy. You guys seem to not know shit about NASCAR Truck specs from the mid 90's. How about you do your research before you make suggestions instead of turn this mod from a mid 90's NASCAR truck to a cross between a Viagra pill, Bruckell Road Cruiser meme and dried chicken.

I am just saying, that maybe we could use Hoosiers as the tires. I know that they don't use Hoosiers for NASCAR, but they are the best motorsport tires to me.
