Yes it is quite the double edged sword isn't it. From what I have seen so far from you though is that a good majority of the problems will be sorted out by the time of release. Either way I really appreciate all of this. Thank you for the hard work and anyone else that has been apart of this development.
because of how quickly youtubers will no doubt get hold of it i really dont want to release it untill its almost finished. i dont want glitches in videos to put people off it The list of people i have to put in the credits for this is becoming quite large
Yeah it is pretty cool that there are so many people willing to help, of course this is highly sought after but doesn't change the fact that there are others that want to put time into making something successful.
Not sure how open to suggestions or constructive criticism you are but I'm going to go ahead and post some things that might spark some inspiration. I took the rendered image from your first post and put decals on the rim like you see on nascar wheels. Definetly not an Aero race wheels rip-off. Another little detail that would be a fairly easy texture edit would be lexan windows, they're kind of like an acrylic that doesnt break into shards that are lightweight used in racing. They usually have a border around them where they attach to the body as seen here. Different coloured rims to choose from would be cool too. Just some 2cents from someone overly obsessed with motorsport.
i already plan on adding the bolts and things to the windows, not sure how im going to show cracks yet, need more research on that. the logos on the wheels is a good idea but you wont really be able to see them because of the resolution of the rim textures, i will see what i can come up with anyways
If your goanna do that then the windows and such that NASCAR uses is Lexan (unless you already knew that already lol)

Could it be like the plexiglass on the CRD? I haven't heard of any cracks on lexan otherwise or at least in the races. I found this but I can't tell if thats how it is suppose to be with this.
I have lexan on 2 of my racecars, and it takes a lot to crack it, only one I've seen crack is this one. It took a whole car landing on if for it to finally split in two, I've seen helmets and multiple other objects thrown at lexan, and it just bounces off, I see lexan pop out of the rivets more often than it crack.
Lexan doesn't really crack, it'll actually kind of peel away layers on a hard enough impact because it's finely layered "plastic". Think of it like holding a stack of papers then bending it really hard, the layers on the outside have to move more than the inside (kind of like the analogy everyone uses for differentials) so they'll kind of tear outwards, in. Was it that picture that you posted? Did it kind of fold over itself and snap or were there actual cracks spider webbing outwards?
It just cracked from the upper right corner to the center, where it connects to the window brace, it was just a jagged crack. Cracked along the purple line I added in paint.
Can i see that without the purple line --- Post updated --- So i have been doing a bit more reading up on lexan, it turns out lexan is the same stuff they make high end remote control car bodies out of, i know there is a big difference but as someone who used to be in a offroad rc car club i can say that those bodies bend before they break. The only time i have seen cracks is around the holes for the pins that hold them on. Wich makes sense the rest of the body has alot of give. Its seams it will only crack if it is either weakened from multiple hard hits in the same area or from one massive hit. And its the bolts joining it that cause it to crack because it cant flex
This is the only time ive seen lexan crack, and even then its just barely. It would probably be easiest for OP to just allow it to bend and not break at all.
