By far the most interesting thread I've seen in a while. It makes me giggle.

That being said, the truck looks great from what I see. I hope the argument in here doesn't discourage you. Keep it up, my dude. It's looking good. Will you have interchangeable skins for it? For example (Just throwing names out there) Jeff Gordon, Earnhardt Jr., Jimmy Johnson, etc? I assume you will at this moment, if you hadn't planned to do so, it'd be a cool idea. I didn't read through the entire thread, so it may've been mentioned already and I missed it. If that's the case, I do apologize, and you can disregard that question. Good luck!

    thanks that is useful
as i have said i do plan on having restricted and unrestricted versions of the engine just so it has a few more options available.

i may have answered it before but its hard to keep track with all the arguments in between
anyway i do plan on having lots of different skins and many people have said they are willing to help so we shall so
also i will have to just double check if its OK to use real life skins with actual brand names before i consider including them

I didn't say anything about releasing the truck. :/ I simply asked about paint schemes and wished him good luck on getting everything together.

will it have the downforce to do blowovers? currently the only cars in BeamNG that can do blowovers is the hillclimb cars (near impossible as the spoiler rips off before picking the car up) and the FR16 and FR17 which have so much downforce they kind of break the laws of physics when they blowover, as high quality as this looks I'm expecting blowovers but it's fine if it doesn't, I honestly just want a Nascar in this game tbh

I really want blowovers to be posible
    Believe me
I will try my best to make it happen
Currently the model has roof flaps which i plan to make work so i may need to make a non roof flap version or just make them removable for blowovers to occur

Oh how I wish I could make textures. If I could do that I would make so many paint schemes. That's also the best looking truck that we've had in years too

Interesting idea! I never considered the D-Series to be a viable candidate for a NASCAR build, but this is looking very nice! However, I have one huge issue with the engine.

The 423 Barstow engine would be 6.933 litres in displacement (61 cubic inches = 1 liter of displacement), which would be 933 cc over the specs for a typical Camping World truck. That being said, though, there are two alternatives to this:
-The 353-cubic-inch (5.8-liter) Barstow engine, which would look exactly alike and have four-barrel carburetors, but would likely be very outdated.
-The 5.5-liter engine out of the Grand Marshal/D-Series, which would still be in production by that time, but would have to be re-modeled significantly to match the look of a typical race engine.

I think that for simple ease of modeling, the 5.8-liter engine would be a better option (with some race tuning, of course), but still, this is highly-exciting, even to me.

He's using the engine model only, theres going to be a custom j beam so that it performs like a nascar spec engine

The 353 j beam would be good for creating a pure short track version of the truck though after its released

Now that I think about it, if this mod eventually goes on the repo, the tires can't be called Goodyear
