Huh, where can I see the reason for it not being approved? On my end the awaiting approval message has gone, but I can't access the resource if I'm not logged into my account, which indicates to me that somebody has looked at it but not approved it. Oh, BeamBot has just sent me a message a couple of minutes ago saying they will give me feedback after reviewing my mod. I guess I need to wait.
Here's some more videos to keep us occupied! I love these realistic style offroading videos, but there are so few of them around for BeamNG. Most people just smash over huge rocks at full throttle, damage be damned!
Did you increase the transmission whine volume? Can't tell if you did or if my ears are deceiving me. Looks fantastic! Which head tracking software did you use? --- Post updated --- While you're waiting for it to be approved on the repo, you could just upload the file in this forum thread as well, for the time being
I may have included a duplicate of the stock transmission with edits to those Coefs that you found. I hope you don't mind? Good idea on the file! I'm fine to upload mods here before they are approved on the repo, right? Let's call this V0.9 in case I still have to make any changes for it to be approved.
i have a suggestion for the expansion pack instead of using gavril you could use something like billys as the badging to make a reason for why this a different front end where both gavril and billys made them but the billys were more popular after the war so that is why that exists --- Post updated --- check out this video of it driving my favorite utah trail https://clipchamp.com/watch/HfY6hcOIU8J
Awesome, thanks. P.S. I forgot to mention, the head tracking software is Opentrack. Yes! I think that's my favourite trail in all of BeamNG. Not too difficult as long as you have a little bit of ground clearance, but the flat rocks add some interesting features to drive over which are missing on most of the other dirt roads. It's fun to drive with stock vehicles. Even an RWD D15 can make it without scraping, it just needs a little momentum and the right approach to that early steep breakover angle. I gotta say though, I don't usually drive that fast on trails but I can imagine the windshield constantly flapping up must really annoy you! Maybe it needs some optional tie downs, haha!
The easiest but most expensive option is to just buy a TrackIR. If you're a bit handy, you can wire three IR LEDs up to a USB powerbank and strap it to your head to get the same effect though. A high FPS webcam modified to see infra-red is the other component you'll need. Old PS3 Eye Cameras are ideal candidates. I believe the wiki in that Opentrack link I posted has some details on how to modify everything for use. It's amazingly cheap if you can follow instructions on how to put it all together. Alternatively, you can also strap a smartphone to your head and use the accelerometer, or stick a pattern on your forehead and have the webcam track it by video.
You'll hate me for this, but I love to pop in that 1 cylinder modded engine, tune it to feel more clunkier and play the slowest car on the road! Awesome!
It's up it's up it's up it's up! https://www.beamng.com/resources/gavril-gpv-expansion.25270 (I don't see it in the in-game mods page, but I can see it on the website at least?)
Nice one, thanks for the info! I'm getting stuck into packing for moving house now. Hopefully within a few weeks I can start on getting that canvas roof into the next release.
