Maybe not now but in a future update, is there any chance you might make some of the smaller engines available in the MD-series?
Silly cosmetic suggestion from someone who knows *nothing* of modding but, it'd be cool if the broken nose style cab got matching modified doors, at least fully squared without the rearward angled pillar.
Update on the mod I have been testing everything and added a few bits like a supercharger for default turbo slot and TV80 set back heavy duty style hood and bumpers. Had to fix some issues I uncovered like adding back single wheels due to EFC removing them from his mod after the T series update. Have yet to fix issues between steering and lifted suspension. I have also fixed the tractor config, as I was required to create a new front frame jbeam due to the updated twin steer system, It made it possible to alter the meshes of the frame horn. This means the overhanging hood has much more ground clearance now and looks much better IMO. For the broken nose cab doors I will try but editing curved meshes is tedious. As I'm still a beginner w blender it may not look good, ill see what I can cook up. I did think about adding the smaller engines to the MD series, but that will probably be for an update. --- Post updated --- What I now have left to do, so you guys get a rough idea, is finish some of the engine meshes, so that they can be mated to the transmission correctly. Most are done but not all. I have yet to add lifted airbags, tried to do it a few months ago but it didn't work as expect by just editing jbeam values, so ill try again. I need to make an NA intake, pretty sure another mod used to add it but not anymore since the update and I want one. Need to make a mesh for the supercharger, its tuned and sounds great but a mesh would be nice, same for NA intake. Need to add one last bumper style, thinking of a big kenworth 963 style bullbar. I also have to crossfade the audio clips I recorded with engine sim to make them sound smoother. All the other sounds are done. I also have a few small bugs to fix. All this should be pretty quick to do, meaning its very much nearing completion. I'm happy with the stuff that is finished so far, and I'm just making sure everything is nice and polished so I don't have to go back and fix it too often once released. I know its been a long time since I said I would release this but I never planned on this mod being so big, lmao. Also sorry for the lack of quality screenshots, I'm on my laptop and although it can run beam, it can only do it in low graphics.
Not yet, I haven't really dabbled into livery creation but its definitely something I want to learn how to do as it looks fun, maybe for a future update. In terms of progress I really am on the home straight right now, I pretty much double checked everything to make it as up to date as possible with the fixes beamng did to certain t series features and parts with the latest update. I pretty much only have some steering/ wheel alignment issues to fix, and the last bumper style to do now, everything else is finished. I've made all my parts compatible with the setback TV80 config from efc. Once everything is finished, Ill probably start messing around with new things like liveries. If things go well release will be in the next week or two
So update time, mod is done now. All I wanted to add is finished, and any other plans I have will get added to my next mod. However, Ive been testing it by just playing with it, which has unveiled that the latest t series update has really messed with the truck's drivetrain and consequently EFCs drivetrain mod (diff lock not working, steering being all messed up). This means I have had to remove the lifted leaf springs from my mod as they broke the steering, especially with the twinsteer configs. Its a bit frustrating considering the truck + EFC mod + my mod combo worked perfectly before the beamng drivetrain update. On the bright side I have finally got my desktop PC back so I now can actually enjoy playing beam and modding. Ive already started messing with new design ideas for a future mod with the T series For now im just trying to fix the small drivetrain issues I can fix with the current state of things. Im working through small issues one at a time to see if they are caused by the EFC mod or mine. *Update* After a quick look, the problems i'm having are strictly steering related, the alignemnt isnt correct, and the suspension behaviour feels off on certain configs. Issues with AWD and diff locks are between EFCs mod and the default t series. I do think beamng will eventually add full AWD to the truck as the axles are present in the mesh files. --- Post updated --- Few pics, this time with good graphics
is it possible to get a 1950s old style t series based on the kenworth 521 or a peterbilt 351 as below
If you want something similar to that right now my mod adds a Neednose-style hood as well as twin-stick transmissions to the T-series. https://www.beamng.com/resources/t-series-drivetrain-expansion.29462/
Thanks for saving the day Plus, we have to remember GavrilMan is working on something similar. (I'm still sore over how it's taking so long.)
Looks nice, it just needs the free floating headlights like seen in this image, or maybe the model of the police spotlights could be used cause they look pretty similar
