really? you have not started? how many months we have to wait? I'm sorry to be impatient but since September that you speak of "race update" and now I read that you have not even started the leaderboard .... do you think it will be ready for the summer?
and please remove the misleading banner

I am not a programmer. It is not up to me to start the codework on that. Our programmers tdev and estama have been working their asses off. You have no idea how much labor it takes to put out an update like this. DayZ made $30 million in a month, is made by a AAA studio, and they are releasing updates barely any faster than we are, with a team much larger. Next Car Game has also made millions of dollars, again are a AAA studio with ten times as many people as us, and they only have 2 cars (wtf?). Right now I have a freelance project which requires me to work full time because of a tight deadline, and I also have to handle the majority of BeamNG support e-mails. We are making lots of progress on this update, and it is a very large one; not just in content and features, but in a million more minor improvements and fixes that make everything better and smoother.

To clarify: we cannot start on 20 features at once. That is not how code development works. We are rebuilding the GUI, which introduced a host of new bugs, and we need to fix those bugs before we can start hurling more features at the currently unstable code. We just had to revise the parking brake code again to work well with the tires since I added the V-beams which improve top speed (but were causing the parking brake to spaz again).

Well am just happy we get to have this game. the update sure it will be awesome. But hay am just happy we even got this awesome game known as beamng. And the begging will just make the beamng team angry and it wont make any body win. Saying "When da up date will be done coz me updated and got no new cars " Will show that you don't read. Read past posts and threads then you get info.( Some times the search bar doesn't work ) I can understand you guys wanting these cars. But 4 awesome guys are working on it and life things. If you are bored of the cars try these. 1 Make you're own car ( Non of those stolen crap ) Put you're hart and sole in to it. Even if its crap at least you can say i made it. i now understand that modeling a car takes time there for give the beamng team some slack. ( Not trying to sound like a prick :) ) @ If you can't make a car mod a car like more hp or new rims or whatever. Hell even make a map. If you can't make cars and you are bored of the cars leave the game for a few weeks and then you will want to play it agean. And by then the cars may or may not be out.

On topic This rig is looking awesome. Can't Waite to smash this in to a small car.

    P.S sorry for spelling mistakes.

Hey Gabester, haven't you ever wanted to punch someone in the face so hard. I feel for you guy's, I mean all the work put into everything, all done with a very small team still amazes the hell out of me. So you guy's keep up the good work and take your time. Like the T75 BTW. :)

I think it's great to see that the you guys are really pushing to make an awesome well polished game instead of doing it halfway and releasing it for the money. (I'm looking at you EA.)

I feel you Gabe. I honestly can't see how you guys can look at endless lines of code and model these maps and cars. I tried to make an app and I got so mad I had to go outside and count to ten.

OT: I really can't wait to start crushing small innocent cars with this thing. It's looking great!

    I can't wait.
I'm feeling really impatient too, but it's really a testament to how great the game is and how much potential it has.
It's just been kind of a bummer reading these sort of "progress updates" as of late. I've been hoping that the current race update goal was "okay, we've added a bunch, lets work on polishing all this so the update is as bug free as possible"
And now I need to accept the fact that it's probably more "okay, these are all the features we still need to add before we can release the update"

I dunno, I know it's not a popular opinion but I kinda feel like my chain has been jerked a few times too many. If only I could go back a month's time and tell 12/31 Ltp0wer to not bother getting his hopes up. I realize it's selfish. I understand that it's probably better for BeamNG if updates are as big as possible because it could really draw in a lot of new purchases, rather than if it were a few bugfixes and small content additions pushed out every few weeks. I just wish the devs would be a bit more careful when approximating release time. Or better yet, I wish I could grow up and feel less entitled.

    Interesting low speed crash test.
Didn't know, that on such low speed Peterbilt bumper could be damaged(I know the frame is higher).

Most bumpers on semi-trucks and even normal pickups are built pretty weak... THe stronger bumpers are seen on full size cars to be honest. A mopar shock-bumpered car's bumpers sell for about 150-300 dollars in derby land. And unless you put an iron beam behind your front bumper, nobody runs stock truck bumpers. At least not here, but you can't run to the rules here and stand a snowball's chance on the sun.

What surprised me most was how violently the driver was tossed around inside the car. He gets pushed back into the seat pretty hard, then the seat throws him into the steering wheel.

"Momentum, a function of mass and velocity, is conserved between portals. In layman's terms, speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out"

    Substitute portals for vehicles.

The stock pete bumpers arnt any thicker than what you would find on a 70's pick-up. I hit a pete once, in reverse, at much lower speed than what is shown here. I took out his headlight, creased the bumper, broke the headlight bezzle, and bent the hell out of the little chromed pice that goes in between the bumper an light, not shure if I cracked the fiberglass hood, but we didn't pull everything apart to see. long story short he was pissed, my company bitched me out, and a pete ant as tough as it looks!

The T75's front bumper has an inconvenient tendency to bend into the front wheel and stop it from moving ;) That's why you gotta line up the frame rails and hit with the center of the truck :D

If y'all need pictured both of my parents work at Kenworth so they could probably help with this if you are needing reference. (I am not smart with semis but my father would probably take pictures of what you guys want.) I really like how this is progressing though :D. Best of luck Gabester.

Do you have access to any trucks from the 1980s or early 1990s? Some interior, engine, engine bay, and underside references would be extremely helpful :) Measurements would also be handy, like track width, wheelbase (center of front wheel to the spot between the two rear axles), and overall length/width/height.

EDIT: Actually, it seems like they still make extremely boxy 80s style trucks, even now, so a modern truck will do as well.

I'm not sure if they have any older ones there. A modern will do as well? Ok i'll try and get those measurements!
-EDIT- (Apparently these are specs for a crane so the wheelbase will be a bit longer is what I was told) Cool Peterbilt engine by the way. Didn't get any pics gabe but I bet they're on google.

Thats an interior shot if a 1994 T600 I found. Looks a tiny bit helpful with interior.
