I just mentioned I made a mistake and I have already asked a moderator to fix it. I can't fix the poll.
Hence GT having been a Name option, though now it has to be taken down from the poll since I am unsure if I can release a mod with that as its sole name. I had Nadeox1 remove the poll, so I will be putting one up with what had been some of the more popular ones. I won't be adding "Other" to the choices this time, but I will listen if you have any other name ideas. Again if a real car uses one of these names, let me know. --- Post updated --- I am reconsidering the idea of using names that other distinctly different cars used. I think, as long as its not directly a name referable to the real corvette, we should be fine. Tell me what you think, I will listen to you guys this time before adding any more in.
hahaha yeah. Dammit don't get the thread locked As long as the name isn't in direct reference to the Corvette, I think we should be fine. However, I could be mistaken. I am saying this because car companies have a tendency to use the same names other manufacturers use for totally different cars on occasion, usually never in the same production time frame or country of origin.
IMO, Barsette is the way to go "Sporter" sounds like something Hyundai or Toyota would use in the 70's
No think about it Gavril Tiger it sounds mean and really really cool especially if it has a supercharged configuration
Or the Ford GT and the Opel GT (Though I can't use GT because the Opel exists and was basically the European version of the Corvette.) There are many instances of name conflicts, usually either in different countries or separated by several model years, or both. I was hoping people had some European sounding name suggestions (Besides @XManic1995 's "Gavril James" suggestion,) because the roots of this car were Euro sports cars. The Corvette was meant to be a very European like car. True, though honestly I would look for a more complex sounding synonym with at-least a couple more syllables in it if I were to choose it.
(Redacted- Please don't swear on the forums ) Well we will see how the poll plays out. If its from a different country atleast, I may still be able to use it. I will be looking for synonyms anyway if it happens to win, but I doubt it will atm. I am not too worried atm about it conflicting as long as it's in another country and separated by several model years.
Bruckell Banshee Bruckell Screamer Bruckell Speedbuck Bruckell Manta Bruckell Riposte Bruckell Corsette Gavril Incisor Gavril Rattler Gavril Meteor Gavril Sidewinder Gavril Apollo I think it really should be a Bruckell, because there are so many Gavrils, and Bruckell is to Chevrolet as Gavril is to Ford. My personal fav is the Banshee, because Pontiac had a Banshee concept that would have been John DeLorean's 'Mustang killer', but GM thought it would have been a Corvette killer too, so they just took it and made it into the C3. look familiar?
I am set on it being Gavril due to the structural similarities and for the fact that I am pulling stuff from the Barstow for use on this. Bruckell I see as more of a Chrysler branding. Ditching the Bruckell nameplate, lets cover your name suggestions; Banshee cant be used due to Pontiac's concept car, despite the name being cool. I doubt I could get a mod in that used the Banshee name, though I could ask Synsol. Screamer, Might be a possibility. I can see a 60s Pontiac influence on that name. Speedbuck... Eh, I will pass for now. Manta can't be used because it has a semi direct connection to the Corvette lineup, and also is a real car name from the same time period, making it a risk to use it either way. I put it up on the poll yesterday and everyone threw a fit over it. Riposte, could you explain more why this would be a fitting name? Remember the corvettes origins! Corsette, eh, I can see what you're doing there but Idk if I should do it or not... I can put it up in the poll. Incisor, hmmm.... Doesn't seem relevant, but I could be wrong. Rattler sounds bad from a marketing standpoint; No one wants a car that is asociated with rattling. Same reason behind why the Chevrolet Citation is such a joke in terms of its name. Meteor is taken by Mercury. Sidewinder sounds like Microsoft just decided to release a sports car Apollo sounds nice, sadly Buick has stakes on the name. Interesting suggestions, but I will have to do some research before adding them to the poll.
Gavril Centroura? Centroura has something to due with actual stingrays.Or, Gavril Dasyatidae, also has to do with actual stingrays.
