Found a 2002 Golf Mk4 GTI with the 8v 2.0 litre (which in an entirely non GTI like fashion is naturally aspirated, mk4's had the 1.8T for that) on autotrader for £390. Don't know why it was priced so low, went to ring about it, sold. Well, bugger.

Possibly something catastrophically wrong/going to go wrong with it. For a car of it's age the price is very, very low, so I suspect something may be suss... (Perhaps flood damage?)

For a car of the sub 500 pound price range, you may be better off looking at older cars. Newer cars in that price range are most likely either really bad or have some sort of terminal mechanical fault (i.e flood damage, ruined engine/transmission and so on). You may get lucky, but it's quite unlikely. With an older car, there is more chance of getting something mechanically sound for not a lot of money.

I am impressed by his effort with Cold Calling people over the telephone. The tension before a blind call over classified ads is enough to put me in the sick bed for a quarter hour just to get nerve up. Keep at it sIx67even. I like what you do.

Geez, I really must go back to school or something.

6677 was posting about purchasing a new Honda, or hatch back two door or something. Multiple posts about getting in touch with people selling cars.

Doing that calling is hard, work. It makes me feel ill calling people I have no relationship with sometimes.

My statement is that it is impressive that he calls even though it turns out the vehicle clutch was trashed and time spent.

And I am still editing this only for the cars.

Wasn't too hopeful on the golf anyway, but I was very much intruiged as to why it was so cheap.
Mazda was very annoying, I was looking forward to that, I just can't afford to sort clutch out.

    Can do better.
I know it is not the Turbo, and not a rare RHD version, and not in as mint condition, but in gbp it costs just under 600.
After all you lose just 20hp, some bragging rights and you can always wax it yourself, all that for the win of 5,3996 quid
Would be a bitch to maintain tho, like any other old Audi.

    Want true value for 5,995GBP?

Someone buy it for me pls

The condition alone of the one I linked makes it more valuable to me. It's a pristine black one. I'm not a fan of white cars that lack body coloured bumpers as well, it looks old and cheap.

But the one you linked doesn't have body color bumpers, but the very same bumpers except the rest of the car is black.
Is one very nice looking car tho.

    more stuff for 5,995

    That's why I said:
I know the black car has plastic bumper as well, but the colour of the rest of the car hides that fact.

    What about this one?
It does have the weaker 1.9 with a carb, but it will fulfill your color needs.
    It looks really nice actually.
And it is only for 390 pounds.
Why am i not buying that?

oh right, because there also are these.
Kitteh don't click that if you don't wanna shoot yourself

96 Escort Wagon with a 1.6 and the Ghia trim.

    78 FUCKING POUNDS
A ROADWORTHY FULLY WORKING CAR WITH THE TOP TRIM

That one looks better than the white one, but it's still worse than the black one as it's a 1983 model as opposed to 1989 and has a lot more miles on it.

You can thank the Obama Administration for that. A $5000 car now was a $2500 car before his dumbass arrived. I looked a a Pontiac Sunfire that would have been $500 back in 2008, they wanted $1500 for it even with a bad clutch.

Talking to Atomix, my car was 14.5k crown with sport rims and tires.
Although CFC was an OK idea, just not well executed. Maybe the owners got money for gas and not their cars crushed.

Got the opportunity to buy a 1995 Volvo 850, with a 2.5l I5 non turbo engine for £80.
Everything works, and the guy I would be getting it from has had it since new.
The only problem is that it's MOT is due soon and apparently it has not passed one first time for the past few years.

Any suggestions, I might be interested in getting it as a track day car or to take the engine and chuck it in my spare MG?
