That's the attitude my man line them up. I'm getting tuned some time in the near future. It made 208 whp on the stock ecu and header. I'm shooting for 225 whp. and as for shotgun chuck, i never mentioned vtec, because my trump card is power to weight. lets just hope no one has to turn.
Im sitting here with my subaru outback from 2009. well technically my parents. It can haul. probably not as good as your cars, but it can get to 35 real quick, which is nice at rush hour.
And here I am with a bone stock GMC Sonoma 4.3. Just because it's heavy doesn't mean it's slow. A Boeing 747 it's a couple 10's of thousands of pounds and it'll do almost 600 MPH. A Bugatti Veyron is about the same weight as a Crown Vic and gets to 60 in about 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of ~268 MPH (on the SS version). Hell, my GMC Sonoma is 5000 pounds and I once raced a GT mustang. I lost, but not by all that much. Heavy != Slow
that boeing also has 200,000 shaft horsepower. power to weight is almost everything. that mustang gt is heavy and also makes little power. a friend of mine has a foxbody mustang, and it weighs 2800 with a chevy 350 in it. hes making over 300 at the wheel without the 300 shot of N20 and his car would run away from mine any day. reduce weight, and add lightness. this is my dream setup. 300 plus hp at the wheel and it will out handle any ferrari or porsche.
Well, it's quite obvious that you're oblivious to the point that I was trying to make. So let me try the other way... Light doesn't equal fast. My Toyota Corolla is lighter than my truck and it's slow as fuck. A Nissan Pulsar or a Geo Metro are also very light and extremely slow. Also, who in their right mind would replace that excellent supercharged 2ZZ-GE Toyota engine in that Exige with a freaking B-series Honda?
A genius would. Yeah I've keyboard raced before I know the whole go metro bit. That setup is nasty and you know it. sorry not b series. k20a.
You're right, that setup is appalling. Also, K-Series Honda, only means the transmission will explode. That's why Lotus uses Toyota components.
190bhp for the stock s1 elise. that k20a with that ITB setup and god knows what else is making 300+ WHP. not even the turbo mr2 comes close. im not saying they are the best manufacturer, but no one makes small engines like honda.
ive been gone for three days and come back to flames. Jeez. Ctjacob is right tho, once youve been driving a car with lots of torque, driving anything else is kinda dissapointing. My parents have a volvo t5 convertable, and it is pretty quick. 0-60 is a litle under6 seconds. But honestly, my car feels faster, despite it obviously not being. Its just the feeling of being violently shoved back in your seat by the torque of a v8 in a car that is so satisfying. And i am not biased in anyway, hell i almost bought a suzuki x90. i love all shapes and sizes of cars.
Oh, a couple days ago my friend who owned the 5th avenue sold it for 1100. However, he bought a 1991 mazda miata the same day. Fun little car.
It's not even about speed as much as it is about response though. Most VTECs don't hit peak torque until 7000+rpm, nevermind peak horsepower until 8000rpm. My car makes at least 80% of it's torque from 1750rpm all the way up to about 4800rpm. I can get most of my power from most of my RPM range which means it's pretty much always on tap and always responsive. That's what I would miss the most about V8's if I bought a RSX or something like that. The most common complaint about the K20 was lack of torque. I've had a few highway pulls with my car. It is definitely quicker than people give it credit for or know for that matter. It obviously won't beat stuff things like WRX or R/T's but still not bad for your standard car. - 2002 Camry V6 0-60mph, Won - 2004 Infiniti G35 Sedan 25-50mph, Won - 2005 Legacy 30-80mph, Won - 2010 Mazda5 0-60mph and 30-70mph, Won - 2013 GMC Sierra 6.0L 30-70mph, Tie - 2014 Ford Focus ST 10-70mph, Lost My car has some bolt-on's though... I have the Performance Improved Aluminum Intake, Dual Exhaust and 2004 P-71 intake. I'm probably about 245-250hp... My car also pretty much idles at 65mph with the 2.73's so I can get over 30mpg on the highway and it makes the car pretty quick in 1st and 2nd gear. It shifts into 2nd at 51mph and 3rd at 88mph.
realistically that whole power low down thing means i just have to down shift and your automatic might decide to as well. if i know were racing ill be in a lower gear and have as much torque as you from the word go. if i didnt expect to have to punch it you might sneak away but that probably also means there are turns being made and that's not good for our friend the crown vic. all of that means very little when im within 10 BHP of you but i weigh 1600 pounds less. that's the difference between a mid 16 second car and a mid 13 second car. and because i have a honda my car will rust away much faster and become even lighter with time. in 10 years ill be able to do a flinstones swap. pull the engine and cut a hole in the floor and away i go. again neither car was ever meant to go fast, but when you see that supercharged crown vic or that turbo civic and they look stock but they go like hell...thats fun. EDIT: 30 mpg is damn near what i get. and no one is flaming anyone. few of you have seen a debate involving imports and domestics this civilized.
I have 256hp and my economy is worse than both of yours. And fuel is twice as expensive.... And I det on less than 98RON JDM yo... My work vehicle has 295 imperial torques and it's only a 2L diesel....
Did you... seriously just say that? Did you seriously just say that the Honda will rust faster than the Ford? Did you seriously just say that THAT'S A GOOD THING?
