I just got my drivers permit on Friday. But now I'm starting to realize how many people don't know how to drive. Already had 2 people cut me off when I have the right of way, and almost had someone back up into me in a parking lot. That's just today though. I'm considering getting a dash cam just in case something happens.
Remember you have a horn. When I first started driving a friend of mine backed her suburban over the hood my of accord. No damage as my car is really low and her car has the off-road package on it. I remembered my horn before it got bad though.
If you can, I would recommend finding a road that no one uses and practice hard braking. My dad did that with me and it helped a ton when idiots pull out in front of me
Depends on alot of things, what truck? What are you doing with it? Daily driver or work truck? what kind of area do you live in?
Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew [2005], Using it for going camping, going to work, driving to and from my grandparents. It's my father's truck, he bought it used with 85,700 km on it, but I also use it as well. My area that I live in is Southwestern Ontario. Here's a picture of it with its American Racing summer tires on. The winter tires have the original factory rims on 'em. Picture taken at a local Tim Horton's. Legend has it that in Canada, you can never go 10 km with seeing a Tim Horton's. That's how common Tim Hortons are in Canada.
Oh. I have no idea what laws govern pick-up trucks over in Germany. You might want to be cautious about Austria, I heard there was a gun attack over there
I never encounter bad drivers. But, ya know. Also, making perfectly good cars worth no more than scrap value in the name of "safety" is something that I'm really against. I've established that.
if i would buy a truck wich im wanting to do i would buy a ram rebel with the hemi v8. and i live in bavaria at the country so space isnt a problem. I only have the idea of buying it because i need to haul alot and since i read that this thing can pull farming equipment i want it because i have some fields were a tractor wouldnt be necessary.
you just need something with weight and torque. a dually diesel is a good choice. if you don't mind going with out the modern creature comforts, you could get an old ford truck with the ford 300ci i6
He's looking for a pick-up in Germany, not America. Go back to floating around on your hoverboard with wheels.
the problem is i also want it as my daily driver also it shouldnt go over 3500kg because then i have to make a lorry licencse
I don't know the availability of American pickups over there, so I would recommend a Ford Ranger or a Toyota Hilux. If American pickups are easily found, Ford F-150. Hands down. If you can find it, the 2.7L turbo V6 option blends power and fuel economy, the 3.5L twin-turbo V6 produces way more power and torque, but at the cost of fuel. You could also try a Dodge Ram EcoDiesel, those will do 29 MPG and tow 7,000 pounds, maybe more. Stay away from the Chevy trucks, their big V8's will murder you at the pump, and the standard N/A V6 is almost useless (they're also ass ugly, but your mileage will vary there). If you're feeling Japanese, the Toyota Tundra is a good choice, but keep in mind that it, too, suffers from "Big-V8-itice". There's also the Nissan Titan with a massive 5L turbo-diesel V8 (the Ram is an N/A V6), but fuel economy is also almost non-existent. If you want a truck, you'll have to settle for the Euro offerings (turbo-diesel 4-pots) or the American/Japanese V6's. V8's won't really be an option, due to fuel consumption. Now, if a V8 is in the cards... Ford F-150 @ 5L and around 385 HP/387 lb-ft Dodge Ram @ 5.7L and around 395 HP/410 lb-ft Chevy Silverado @ 5.3L/6.2L and around 355-420 HP/383-460 lb-ft
getting american cars here isnt a problem i live near an american military base and you can get pretty much every american car new or used for engine i want a V8 because if i think of a pickup i think of a V8 and im a really big fan of the Ram Rebel with its hemi. A ford would also be an option but i dont know wich one.
