This front bumper looks better than the Nismo one in my opinion...

considering nobody else has ever had issues with overheating in the mustang besides your one police test conducted under race conditions not road conditions in temperatures soaring far above those experienced in the UK

I'm curious to see how they use it. I know for a fact it's a pursuit vehicle, because who in their right mind would use a Mustang as a cruiser? But let's be honest now, how often do people run from the cops in the UK? Where the hell are you going to go? You're on an island. At least here in the US you can escape to Canada or Mexico, or in Australia you can go and hide in the outback, but the UK? Escaping to Scotland are you? Where are you going to hide? Stonehenge, perhaps? Maybe the Harry Potter castle? Under the Queen's dress?

I'm not saying it's stupid, it's a spectacular idea, but these are all legitimate questions I'm having.

we have BMW M5's, Subaru impresa WRX's and lancer evos as pursuit vehicles too. Idiots do try to flee, sometimes in fairly quick vehicles.

And then here in the US our pursuit vehicles are the cruiser vehicles, apart from a select few departments like the LAPD that has one Corvette.

"Pursuit Vehicles" owned by any police department are usually just a showey type thing.
I do know that CHP bought a small fleet of Mustangs to use as pursuit vehicles in the 80s, because the Diplomats, LTDs, and Caprices they used as cruisers were just too slow.

having seen the wrxs out on the roads, yes, they are used here in the UK. They even work normal patrol

nope but every british police vehicle has an ANPR camera, plates are saved and your court summons is already in the mail along with warrant for arrest arranged for if you don't answer it ;)

Is the typical patrol car over there just really slow or something? Crown Vics aren't exactly fast compared to brand new cars, but we still manage.
On a slightly different topic, I wish turning the o/d off in my car would also raise the 1-2 shift points a little. The short-shifts are real.

we actually divide traffic police from patrol vehicles. An impreza wont be responding to calls of domestic violence or robbery, but a skoda fabia will, that skoda fabia also wont be used for responding to calls of a speeding driver. Its two departments.

It was more likely race conditions. It's designed to stay cool under those conditions, too. I don't know what they put it through.
Very, very few cars on the road would give a new Mustang a run for its money, it'd probably spend most of its time at half throttle or in cruising gear in a pursuit.

I admit, I absolutely love the New Mustang. I think it is a gorgeous vehicle & the best muscle car currently produced in the USA. But I don't get how it managed to overheat after 3 laps around a test course.
