I concur the light grey car slipped up. in all honesty his initial dodge was impressive that car dug in and changed directions well in the wet. shit.
It looks like the light grey car was going too fast or not paying attention, hence couldn't react/stop in time. Didn't help that SUV in front had a slightly delayed reaction resulting in sharper braking (which is to be expected), perhaps they should have kept better braking distances due to weather too. The cars in the fast lane probably should have been going a little slower due to the stationary traffic and not being able to see what was causing the stationary traffic. But all of that is very easy to say in hindsight. As far as I can tell the Superb did nothing wrong, the lorry with the green load blocked the right turn for everyone in both lanes, so both the superb and the white car in front of it had no where to go but to stop.
I think it is the red skoda's fault, because they tried changing lanes at the last moment, which made the 4runner stop, hence why the silver car swerved.
The car, stopping at a red isn't really nessicary and the fact that if you take a look, the light is green for them, and, if you look closely, he had no reason to stop, if he was turning he was in the wrong lane, going straight he was being stupid, yet, the grey van also had a part too, swerving into a lane which, obviously, he had not checked is dangerous and we can clearly see the results, it would have been safer if he had hit his brake s and slid into the RAV4 ahead, causing less damage and less severe injuries to all involved. The RAV4 was just in the wrong place at the wrong time --- Post updated --- Whoops not RAV4 meant Toyota 4Runner....
The scary thing is I was in a situation like that saturday. I was following a friend to a place I didn't know how to get to so I didn't leave the proper following distance, and my friend had to brake a bit too hard. He locked up his truck but was still stopping faster than me, so I did a quick mirror check and swerved left. Nearly got hit by a suburban (in my 2000 accord) at 70mph. I would've been at fault. My only defense is that I'd never been anywhere near a wreck before, and I doubt I'll react that way in the future.
Why is everyone saying 4runner? From what I've been able to see it is the "Kluger" in Australia & Japan, and its the "Highlander" everywhere else
Personally I think I would go for Orange. I love British Racing Green however the Elise is a small car and by painting it green you make it fairly easy for other drivers to not see. By making it orange it should hopefully make it easier for other drivers to spot. Yellow or blue would also be a decent choice too. The dark grey charcoal one looks pretty bad ass though as well. Although once again easy to not spot.
skoda just unveiled the new octavia facelift i think it doesnt look that good it looks abit like a old merc slpped to the front
I think it looks alright, but it looks very much like the designers were just getting pressured into making changes but had no idea what to change so they just did that...
the problem is that they want to look like a merc and so they didnt really know what they should do to get it there and putting dual headlights on it would be the cheapest thing to change but i also hope that the vRS will not look to bad. Also what do you guys from america think of skoda in generall because they maybe are comming over there.
Honestly I dont know much about Skodas but one thing I'd say about them is that they are one of the last remaining companies that understand that all cars dont have to look like bloated hypercars and they are one of the few european car companies I've never heard anything bad about(but that could be because we dont have them here)
even that has overly fancy wheels, veyron style headlights and way more vents than it probably needs(definitely more individual ones than needed...), you mainly can see the bloated hypercar look from the front, cars haven't really changed much in appearance from the side since the 90's.
Fair enough, bit it only has 2 vents on the front. The main grille and the bit above. Which imo is not that many.
Don't forget that the early Commodores were based off of european models. Did they at least modify it to sell it in OZ or is it just a re badge job? I can't tell from the photo you posted.
...It's the exact same kind of thing people consider to be "rice" but now its coming that way straight out of the factory, and in a way it makes all cars look somewhat the same due to them all having such distinctive and aggressive styling on a rounded somewhat blobby body regardless if they are the types of cars that would normally have distinctive and aggressive styling or econoboxes such as the prius. Maybe on a sports car or something it doesnt seem like that many but compare it to an earlier minivan or stationwagon, they would just have the one or two grills which works fine, but now that minivan had SIX different holes for the air to flow through, that's just excessive especially for something thats main purpose is to be practical rather than meant to attract attention.
