Today, a "friend" of mine told me that he was loving the sound of the Turbocharger on his parents Nissan leaf. ...Oh well
I love the sound of the turbocharger in my car. The difference being a bugeye WRX actually has one...
Red Bull TV's coverage of the WRC is incredibly good compared to last years ITV coverage. ITV only had the 1 hour review show per event and streaming it online was a pain in the proverbial. With Red bull they are doing 30 min shows every day that the rally is taking place giving better coverage and they have brought back the old commentator Paul King who I personally preferred to the one that ITV replaced him with. Plus you can stream the whole thing online live or on demand and you don't need an account to do it, their video playback system also works really well. To add to all that they get the 30 min show fully edited and online on the same day that the event happened which is insane. You can catch day 1 of Sweeden here, not sure if it will work outside the UK though: https://www.redbull.tv/live/AP-1Q84GQUR51W11/fia-world-rally-championship The WRC is the only motor sport I watch and its incredible to see it finally get some good coverage without having to pay for the official WRC streaming service or subscription TV.
Works for me. I wish that kind of stuff was more popular in the US. I can turn on the TV at any time and watch basketball or football (the American kind) but I don't think I've ever seen rallying, sometime baja racing but that's about it.
For what it's worth I never really said that there were no stupid car laws outside the current/former British empire, just that within that particular list of countries, earlier separation tends to equal fewer idiotic impediments to enjoying driving. An example: Yes, I have very much heard of Tuv their approved parts list idiocy. That must be very fun when you're driving a car that was never officially sold in Germany or just doesn't have much aftermarket support in general.
The official support of parts and performance parts is quite good and american imports are quite easy to register japanese wans are supposedly harder to register. Also as soon as you want to tune your car you can only do it with a professional and you have to get a tüv guy you know well. For example a friend of mine tuned his e30 to over 800 hp (the dyno wouldnt read more) and he got tüv i wanted to change my intake and delete the first muffler they wouldnt let me at first then i got the same guy as my friend he would let me
So nobody watched the KOH today? Damn I've got alot of friends down there, One of whom rolled his truck. Anyway, here are some pictures some friends have took. There are a ton more, I just have to find them. For those of you who have no idea what the KOH is.
So you're literally not allowed to work on your own car? That has to be one of the most screwed-up things I've ever seen.
Do any of you have any experience with single din displays? I'll be adding a few tuning related sensors soon, and instead of an ugly Guage pod, I'm going to take advantage of the Blutooth to moniter everything. Is a fold out din that runs android and has blutooth something that can easily be found and installed? It would be awesome to have it retract into the dash when I'm not using it.
Never seen such a thing. Closest I've ever found is a stuff like this garbage that takes RCA input. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/172490406398?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 You could then get an odroid c1 and mess with a soldering iron to get at its RCA output http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=7726 It's the only device I know that runs android and has RCA out. I've seen double din units that take VGA. Raspberry pi also has RCA out but no android last time I checked. Either way there is a huge shortcoming here, display I linked has no touch input. --- Post updated --- Find one written in engrish http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/38192133550...08&_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_mwBanner=1
Stripped out the Hyundai Excel that I will eventaully be circuit racing at Mallala. Took the rear and passenger seats out, all trim except dash, air con, heater, speakers, parcel shelf, roof lining and a bit of the bitumen sound deadener stuff. Dad will be trying to track down some dry ice so that the rest of the sound deadener can be easily removed. Excel's weigh something like 930-950kg factory, it should end up being around 800kg with all the crap taken out. Sorry, currently no pictures, will take some when I go around there on Tuesday.

Tread lightly mate. I'll admit they do look a bit average, especially from the side but they are ultra popular in Australia and are known to last a very long time. The one that has been stripped out is the exact same as mine (featured in the profile picture) but instead green and has a shit load of paint fade.
How dare you insult the all-mighty Hyundai Excel. My parents fit themselves & three kids in one of them, hell my mum even got a dining table in it once.
Thanks a lot for that, I super appreciate it. The backup idea is just to use a cheap tablet with some kind of removable mount. I have an LG tab with a gig of ram i got for free for buying my note 4. I'll figure something out thanks again. --- Post updated --- I hyper mega approve of this. Add lightness and give them hell.
Here are a few more pictures of from when my friend rolled his Blazer. Moral of the story is unless you enjoy a 5 hour drive without a windshield, don't do donuts with 8 PSI in the tires.
