The headlights are too thin. It makes the space between the too headlights look larger then it should be... Gives a derpy expression.
Atleast I'm not cringing like this Ferrari: It looks like a joke! Seriously, I feel like Ferrari was inspired by Alfa Romeo, and mixed aggression into their vehicles, some of them working, some of them not, like this.
*LMAO* Are you serious? It's like saying this 2-Series Active Tourer is the best BMW ever. Somebody is gonna legitimately laugh at you. [I know it's a joke.]
Yes i was joking duh. What to people here think of 70s american muscle? I personally hate it. 90 hp base model mustang
*I was faking it, since now I added another section I think that it's decent, but only because of Plymouth and Dodge.
The Malaise Era is one of my favorite eras in cars. I love the styling and love keeping alive the cars that no one else cares about.
Tehcnically, the 70s include 1970, 1971 and 1972, so make of that what you will. Although I get you mean Malaise muscle. They weren't bad cars, actually; they were just a response to an era when excesses of the muscle heyday shot insurance up, emission control was (thankfully for LA and NY) introduced and people wanted to pay less at the pump.
I quite enjoy the malaise era as well. The cars were big, ugly, and slow, and it was awesome... In those ways. Not so awesome in the ways like Chevy Chevette, but we'll gloss over that (because Cosworth Vega).
Having one of those Mustangs in my possession... I guess I am qualified to speak on this. I have an 88 Mustang 2.3L Auto. It's the first car that I owned that was actually road legal. I bought it off ebay for $610 from some guy that didn't speak any English (some parts of the country that would be normal, but not around here) and his wife claimed that they needed to move back down to Mexico immediately and sell everything they owned for "business reasons." Later on I found several bags of Cocaine stapled to the top of that board that goes over top of the spare tire, but under the carpet. So, a good first car I guess... In all seriousness, it was a fantastic little car... no fun in a straight line at all, sounded like shit, could barely move out of its own way, and when you drove down a bumpy road it rattled like every part in the car wasn't bolted together. That being said though, it was light, it was incredible practical (hatchback), and it was good in the corners. If you pitched it at a good twisty road and really light up the tach, it could actually show you a really good time (as long as its flat or downhill... uphill? forget about it). I used to make deliveries in that car down West Creek Road to the next town over from mine (younger and dumber). It was an 11.5 mile all downhill trip that I had down to a tee. I could sling that car down that hill in a blistering 10 minutes during the day, or if I had to make night runs... I almost had it down to 9 (you can see headlights coming, so you can be a little braver). I genuinely love that car... granted, seeing as it was my first, I felt like it was much MUCH better at the time than it really was. Now that I own a Corvette, that car just puts that Mustang to absolute shame in every department imaginable... granted, that really isn't a fair comparison.
But in other terms, it's nothing special, and is kind of bland. It's also one of those disliked BMWs besides the 2016 X6 M.
It is disliked because it doesn't suit the typical BMW buyer- aggressive, arrogant, pretentious, egoistic self-proclaimed king of the road.
Plus, I feel like that BMW was a bit tacky, so they decided to slap the 2-Series fascia onto an MPV, and marketed it. It's like if Chevrolet tried to cash in the Corvette, and decided to slap an C8 rear on an hypercar that is somehow related to Corvette.
I think this van looks pretty good. They don't make them like they used to. It's all plastic and cheap components nowadays. I feel like if they put a V8 and sports wheels, people would buy them. Chevy does this with their MPVs and it makes it look tacky. /s
The 90s and early 2000s were way worse. Everything was industrial polymer back then. --- Post updated --- I feel bad for BMW. They make nice cars, but everyone thinks of the buyers instead.
I don't see anything that screams out VAN! It looks more like an crossover, or some mutated SUV/CUV/Crossover/MPV/APV/Minivan. (I'm listing the possible body styles.)
I do like other cars from BMW, like the 2018 M5, and unsurprisingly, the 3.0 CSL. I just feel like that the Active Tourer was one of their, meh cars. Nothing impressive, but nothing so despicable. Well, an Minivan has the same thing. I don't get why you think it's an van.
