Then again, this is nothing new:

A couple of months predating the appearance of the production redesigned RDX came this.
This grille has a awkward shape (kind of resembles the Taurus grille) and a logo that's also oversized (Maserati has done this before, even with older vehicles).

Also, I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the sharp-looking aero beneath the headlights. I never saw such shaping like that on most Luxury SUVs/CUVs, nor did I ever see it on the RDX previous to this new refresh.

Maserati actually manages to compose its grills into their finely styled bodywork. Acura just pulls a grille the size of Nebraska out of nowhere.

The Maserati grille is playing the Free Bird solo at the end of Free Bird, the Acura one is playing it in the middle of Requiem.

Then again, Maserati has done such over-sized logos since the mid-20th century. Acura did this since the Precision Concept in 2016.
Atleast it's not the abominable new Audi Q8:

Almost looks the same as the concept, and looks as angry as how aggressive death metal could sound like. (In another words, it's another "angry SUV")

It looks like any Audi - honed-out single-frame design with the amount of aggression you would expect from a car worth so much.

The Acura, meanwhile, looks like a styling experiment of throwing shit and seeing if it sticks.

But when you're basically copying the same f***ing design from the concept, that really shows a lot of how much effort was put in for the designs.
Well, I guess Acura did the same with the RDX as well, so they would be both guilty.

Who cares if it looks like the concept?

It only matters if it looks good.

...the Q8 looks okay to me, but not as good as other Audi SUV designs (except for the Q2 in my honest opinion) like the Q5, Q3 and Q7.

They were going to do this once before, the result ended up being called the Probe, and until they hastily made it a separate product, it resulted in apocalyptic levels of (justifiable) rage directed at Ford.

    Well, here's a render of a J50 inspired as a modern-day Dino.

Watched more Crew 2 beta videos. I'm going to add "bridges that look like some BeamNG mod maps in both sense made and quality" to its list of transgressions, and I still think the UI and racetracks look silly. At least the new Golden Hills Racetrack seems to have a more inspired layout than the old one.

This turbocharged V8 sounds really nice!
(Then again, Ferraris from the 80s often have well-constructed engines with such clean sounds personally)

Hmmm... The I-Pace gets more interesting... Apparently it has actual off-roading capabilities and Jaguar are advertising it as such. Since Jaguar are one with Landrover, I guess it checks out that it could actually be a solid vehicle for light off road applications.

It has two motors, then torque vectoring (via brakes) to get power where it is needed. They also have off-road oriented features like off road cruise control to automatically get you up hills while utilising its torque vectoring abilities etc. Sure, it isn't a Land Cruiser, but it's a lot more than the average SUV, and for an SUV, it doesn't look too SUV'ish. If you can get some decent tyres on it, might be pretty good.

Skip to 1:35 for some off road footage (on road tyres).

Seems like it’s ground clearance is a little low due to the all important electric aerodynamics.

Ground clearance is listed as 142mm (5.6") fully laden, which is pretty low.

But it has air suspension, not sure what the range on that is. At 2:02 in the above video it looks like it has plenty of clearance for normal off road type stuff.

    EDIT: Image

That's hardly any offroading for a car with supposed offroading capabilities. I've done the same stuff in Audi A4, Chevy Cruze and, of course, my Sunny. Though the latter two have bigger ground clearance than I-pace, Audi with only 117 mm still did quite well, though the water was reaching door sills.

That's great to hear, but Chevy didn't send the Cruze along that sort of terrain in their PR campaign, where they invite reviewers to test their cars.

Equally, I highly doubt that a front wheel drive car would make it up any of those assents.
