No, I want choice and not the idiocy that comes with idolising the past. I'd rather be able to pick between an FWD I4 and an RWD V8, as opposed to RWD V8 and RWD V8. Suppose I want a car with more driven wheels and more cylinders than your precious old car ever had. Suppose that said car is also a modern invention. What then? Doesn't that go against your "omg cars gettin smalr" agenda?
I'd love to have the choice you describe, but the choice at the lower price levels is pretty much FWD I4 or FWD I4, with a few V6es in midsize sedans still (and good luck getting them with a manual!). It's not cars that are getting too small, it's the engines. The cars themselves are getting too heavy. I think there comes a point where a car no longer qualifies as "compact" even if its dimensions say it does.
Even if it's not the point here, let's forever put to rest the notion that cars aren't getting bigger. (imported from here) New cars will get engines to suit the ever-changing social and environmental climates (pun intended), be it a fad, or a legitimate trend. Small displacement, high compression ratio/turbo four bangers are the engines of choice for the modern appliance-y car. This is not necessarily a bad thing; I found out the hard way that a new 2.0L Qashqai (1.4-1.6 tonnes) can chop the poo-poo out of my 2.0L Impreza (1.1 tonnes).
the photo of the GTR behind the GTR looks like that image of that scared chiwawa with a bigger dog chasing it.
What is with Nissan & their ridiculous amount of SUVs? Qashqai, X-Trail, Pathfinder, Murano, Murano Cabriolet, Dualis, Juke, Patrol, Armada, Terrano & Navara SUV.
other way around. An suv is based on a Light truck or utility vehicle chassis design. crossover is usually based on a car chassis. the ford kuga, based on a focus platform. Its a hatchback that wants to be an suv.
Yeah, his avatar poses as interesting question though. How does she get so much belly button movement? She must have a lot of belly to get that sort of vertical movement but she is also quite narrow in that section of her body. It just doesn't add up I think the reason Nissan are producing a lot of cross overs is because they seem to be selling very well. People seem to like cars that give them a higher seating position and they also seem to like the appearance.
I would like to have something like a racecar. Like DTM Audi or an Audi LMS Ultra / Porsche 919 Hybrid. Something faster ------ Sry thought that was Car suggestions my mistake ..
What a great way to end off a terrible week. :/ Some fuck face contractor thought it would be a great idea to stick re-bar six inches out from the concrete parking stop, and it almost ripped the bumper skin off. This was taken after removing the washer fluid reservoir, foglight housing, and attempting to get the bumper to sit flush with the fender.
I'm getting really tired of defending Crown Vics. I genuinely want to know, why do people love to shit on them so much? I know what people don't like about them, but why does to the golden rule of respecting other peoples' cars go out the damn window as soon as a crown vic gets involved?
Probably because of how much they're glorified despite being just another average sedan. I don't have any fault with them but god damn do people put them on a pedestal.
They're the last of their kind. Try to find another "average" sedan with a stick under the rear end and a v8 up front. I guess I can understand where you're coming from though. They earn their praise around here for being such a tough workhorse. Yeah, they're inherently American, but damn they're hard to kill.
I can imagine that modern Holdens and other certain cars still have exactly what you're talking about. You'd have to wait for a resident Aussie to go into more detail though.
