That's becasue it is. I tell this story all the time, but this Mercedes replaced an E-150 with about 400,000 miles on it. Still ran like a top. Sold it to a gardener, promptly made it puke rods trying to tow 4 lawnmowers on a long, heavy trailer. Idiot. Meh, I'll look at it later. Not desperate for it.
My father's dad owns one, and it's pretty decent (it's the E-Series from the late 90s/early 2000s) for a van. It was also relatively cheap as well. Also... E-Series > Focus
I can't speak for the reliability of the transit, but I have a few hours behind the wheel of them and I'm not a fan of how they drive at all. I haven't ever driven an E-series, or an Express. I would like to but we don't have e-series vans at [large American car rental company] because Ford stopped making them in 2014/15 and they've all been long sold off. We have Expresses too but I haven't gotten ahold of one. Aso the E-series and the focus are two very dissimilar vehicles.
I've driven a Savanna, which is the exact same thing. Nothing special, they drive like a van. They're torquey and a bit of fun to romp on. The LS based power plant makes upgrades easy and a fast van is cool in my mind.
Part 3 of interesting road stuff from holiday... Totally the most important of information to display prominently. Note the obstructed "weak bridge" sign hidden on inside of blind corner, facing at odd angle behind foliage.
Drove (beat) a '17 2.3t Mustang today. Very tail happy but not all that fast. Still a pretty fun car, with TCS disabled I never felt stability control engage even though I got pretty sideways a couple of times. Biggest issue with it was the road noise, which was louder than just about any other car I've ever been in, but I like the way it drives.
That's one of my... Many complaints with mine. It's so God damn loud especially at highway speeds. It's really awesome when I'm beating on it and I can hear the engine and intake noise, but when I'm going on a vacation or just come back from a bad day at work, the last thing I want is a Mustang to ride in. I've decided my next car will be a V8 luxury sedan. I've been looking around at some Jags and a few Cadillacs. I'm highly interested in a Grand Marquis... With a supercharger. A big and fast grandad-mobile tickles my fancy.
I have liked 323F since early childhood. These were the primary cars featured in my childhood drawings. Unlike other bodystyles of 323 BG, it was never available with the BPT 1.8 turbocharged engine. I have an idea of buying one with a NA BP and turbocharging it. Where could I buy a factory turbocharger or a donor car? I managed to find one on mobile.de, but it had a broken turbo.
Oh trust me, I'd have one if I could find a nice one. I want a grand marquis specifically for the grandpa-ness it has. They're also easier to find and cheaper than a Lincoln Town Car.
I’d agree, except for how swappable the LS is. Honestly what else could you have that fits in nearly everything and can put out basically any power? I think they’ve got pretty reliable 1200hp kits now.
