You're not a real car guy if you can't have fun driving anything. I can have just as much fun in a rental Hyundai Elantra and my Mustang. They aren't even different types of fun, they're twisty road fun.
Fun has a wide meaning. Smashing old bangers (or even better, brand new cutting edge hypercars) with a semi sounds hella fun.
Well, not all cars are created equal - why do you think aitomakers would spend money on responsive steering, uprated suspension, etc.if that was the case? I don't know about you, but people buy stuff like MX-5s or old British roadsters for a reason. --- Post updated --- Well, FH is more about the fun of driving than crashing, as the mediocre crwsh physics show.
Ok, this was just an example, we have Beam for that. How about pushing a non-performance car past its limits? Sounds really fun, plus those limits are easier to achieve than ones of a performance car.
Yes, that would be a tonne of fun, but Forza Horizon isn't really the series for covering that sort of ground. Traditionally other existing franchises have somewhat filled that gap, however the current wave of arcade racers are all going after the same vision. Which is the Test Drive Unlimited formula, but done with a budget of more than £2.50, with more arcade like physics.
You know what is more fun than pushing a slow penalty box to its limits? Pushing a slow sports car to its limits.
My lord in heaven, child. What's it like inside your head? How old are you? Do you drive? I guarantee if you had to drive an economy car (think base model Civic or a Fiesta), a sports car (like an MX-5), and a super car (like a McLaren 650S), you'd have the most fun with that economy car. I know I would, I've driven two Fiesta's (an ST and a Titanium) and the were equally as fun, and blow my pony car out of the water in terms of such. Again, a real car guy can have fun in anything, not just fast things. Slow car fast is much better than fast car fast.
Sure a sports car can be slow. I don't think you'll find many people who would say that cars like the MX-5, Opel GT, and Lotus Elan aren't sports cars. They're all in the ballpark of 100hp yet were purpose built for fun (and are).
Here's my "bashing drivers of a few Massachusetts cities" list. Spoiler Fall River: Careless fuckers. Boston: Traffic-building merger-assholes. Plymouth: Road-eating, but more decent than most of the cities I've been to. Worcester: Same as Plymouth. Swansea: Unfunny lane-blockers. Somerset: Almost average... Dartmouth: Can be sometimes rough.
Where did I say anything about speed? And have you driven a 650S? Midget/Sprite/Spitfire or X1/9, anybody?
Well you're implying that if a car isn't sporty, it's not fun, and that couldn't be further from the truth. --- Post updated --- I other news, I saw a stanced Grand Caravan today. A stanced. Grand. Caravan. A STANCED THIS LOOKED LIKE THIS AND SOUNDED LIKE THIS god is dead
My goal at the start of the year was to save up 4 or 5 grand and get a nice car around September. So naturally, I bought a beater Subaru for $900 in April and have barely driven it all summer because it was broken. Now, about 4 grand later, it's September and I finally have a car to drive. So mission accomplished I guess.
