I think it looks far nicer than the current ones, and is more in-line with the company design language. Also, there was an Explorer ST in the backround.... could be interesting.
Some interesting new electric stuff was on display at the LA motor show last month. America is going to start getting the awd prius. Apparently the batteries are engineered to work better in cold climates than standard batteries. The rear motor can be disengaged when not needed for efficiency. With it being a hybrid, it's good for long distance travelling. Could be a really capable car for snow climates. VW have been showing off a new van concept. Last year they were giving test drives of the camper van variant. So the platform is clearly getting closer to road going. So it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that the finished vehicle might look a bit like this (without the conceptified design elements) Audi have been showing off their new etron gt, based on the porsche ev platform with 590hp. But with a little more practicality. The Subaru crosstreck is getting a hybrid option, with 70miles of ev only range. Subaru has bought the technology from Toyota. Except they are still using the 2.0 boxer engine with a standard automatic. It's still a permanent awd vehicle. There is an 800hp EV corvette. It's done aftermarket by a company called genovation. Coolest thing being that it is still a 7 speed manual. Apparently it sounds like a turbine and revs to around 7000rpm before you shift. So it's mostly like a normal car to drive. The suspension, ECU, TCS, Wing etc are all programmable over the air. So you can dial in a custom setup for track days. The rgb lighting makes it look a little dumb, but it's actually kinda cool.
The Audi has likely the most sloped roof I've ever seen in a 4-door. How impractical is the Porsche gonna be?
I prefer the Edge and EcoSport, they have a better design language in my personal opinion and look pretty decent overall.
Not really, looks fine. Been around lots of car dealers today since my parents are looking at replacing their cars. I remember someone here asking about rear legroom. BMW X1 and X2 both have very good rear legroom. The X2 is about as un-SUV as an SUV gets too. Its no higher than a normal car. They are both quite pricey though. The Kia Ceed is "fine", but nothing special in terms of rear space. Some cars shocked me for how bad they were. The Mercedes A-Class is bad for rear leg room (not deep enough), I literally can't fit in the Kia Rio (head or legs), the Honda Jazz is ok, until you recline the seats, at which point my head became embedded in the roof. All of the Volvo's felt really small inside with some frankly bizarre design choices, but to their credit, I did (only just) fit. The issue here being that our Hyundai I10 can seat 4 adults with ample headroom, and "enough" rear leg room for shorter journeys (<1 hour). And the I10 is tiny. Far smaller than any of the above cars. Toyota was awful. All their cars felt like they were about to fall apart, the interior trim was bendable on most models, everything felt cheap and fragile. The C-HR especially was utterly awful, it was so incredibly dark inside because of how small and tinted the windows were, and in the rear seats, there is no window to the side of your head, you can only see forwards. It feels utterly claustrophobic.
My father has a 2007 Corolla, and I have to agree about the lowbrow interior materials. Also, it feels like it could have more interior space.
We don't get the corolla in the UK. They replaced it with the Auris, which only has incredibly anemic engine options, and is perhaps the most boring car on sale in the UK. Perhaps the Dacia Logan might beat it for dullness? However, I think they are killing the auris and bringing the corolla back again.
That looks awesome, besides the red dash. I do like the fact that it's supposed to sound like a turbine. I don't really like how quiet most EVs are, even some of my old RC trucks sound more aggressive.
It’s an Indian market car on sale simply because ford is lazy. Chevy did the same with the Traxx, if my memory serves me right. Enough said.
I don't really like the asymmetrical design. I think it looked better when it was symmetrical. And for some reason I can't help but think of the Hot Wheels Monoposto.
