We always joke that nav screens look like an ipad on the dash, but Ford has taken it to another level. It’s not a photoshop, it’s an official press release. Look at it and weep.
What else are they supposed to do? They can't move the screen down like some mid 00's car, since then the driver has to take their eyes off the road for longer. They can't move it further into the dashboard, because it's a touch screen and no one will be able to reach it. For navigation its more practical for the screen to be vertical so you can see further ahead on the map. So it's in the most practical placement. And at the end of the day, it's a Ford, generally speaking their cars are at the more attainable end of the market. So sticking a 20" HD touch display in there isn't so much of an option, and if they did, they would have less space for physical buttons for common functionality.
At least they made it look like it's coming out of the dash, not just glued to it. Would be cool if they made it retractable.
That screen is unnecessarily big. Same with Tesla's, it's oversized. Plus, it's probably more expensive because of it's size.
I still dislike the design, opinion hasn't changed since the spyshots. I also hate how chunky it looks as well.
It looks fine to me. Like the chunkiness to it as well. Its not as bad as say the design language of Chevys these days.
Has anyone in America been keeping track of those cuts GM are making in regard to facilities? Up here in Canada, the Union is getting desperate to save the Oshawa plant which was one of the facilities to be cut. https://www.google.com/amp/s/global...ral-motors-oshawa-plant-workers-walk-out/amp/
