I agree with you all the way. It really took a tangent there. I've been a registered member on this site for over three years, and the fact that he said he'd rather die than live in a world where electric and self driving cars are more of a thing than they are now, is quite frankly, something I found to be one of the most shocking things I've ever read during these said three years, and knowing this place, some shocking incidents have taken place here. As for that about climate change, maybe the sort of people who denies climate change caused by humans, should probably visit some of the most contaminated places on the planet, and just see it in action.
This argument is ridiculous, and I see it far too often. “Them dadgum hippie liberals who want to turn the country into a bunch of lazy bums with free college and socialism” aren’t the only ones affected by climate change, you in your crappy Ohio trailer park will start to see the effects too, if you haven’t already. How many people live by the “my life is fine, I don’t see the problem” when it comes to climate is terrifying. Sometimes I wonder whether my future grandchildren and great grandchildren will even have a planet to live on.

On the topic of climate im going to say something not everyone likes to hear but the electric car isnt the soloution to our problem yes it does help a bit but in some aspects a diesel car pollutes less than a EV. Yes a EV doesnt emmit that much local C02 but still it emmits some because of brake dust and tirewear also the old horse about the production is still there and it isnt practical in most day to day use because of the charging. All in all the problem of the EV is its battery thats why it has failed and probably might fail again. The soloution would be hydrogen as you could use it on a broader scale yes it isnt as ecological as pure Electric energy but its a hell of a lot better than having those batterys and hydrogen works better with ships and lorrys.
General Environment Discussion (j/k) IMO,electric motorcycles would be nice. Motorcycles pollute more than cars dispite of lower fuel consumtion and lower CO2, because of 2-stroke engine. Electric ones don't have this problem and they occupy less parking space so more vehicle can be charged simultaneously.

So after rewatching the currently newest Grand Tour Episode whose dad or familiy member had a classic Ford like a Cortina or Mondeo or Sierra? For me my Granddad had a Taunus and now still has a Mondeo one of my granduncles had a Capri and the other granduncle had a Granada. My dad had a Escort my mum a Fiesta (just now noticed that nearly everyone had or still has a Ford in my family except me or my sister)
My dad was thinking about buying the outgoing Mk3 Mondeo in 2007. He bought a Toyota Corolla he still owns, though. Either way, Mondeo is still more "rolling up to Kaufland with rust spots and cheap alloys" than "classic" to me.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but my town really needs more police patrol cars during rushhour. Mainstreet looks like a scene from crazy taxi half the time and I'm sick of it... I really need a dash cam. I'm usually a calm person, but there was an impatient VW Golf behind me at a red light this morning and I honestly drove 30 in a 30 (everyone does 50mph here) hoping he would try to do something stupid. Once in awhile people will run red lights in a spectacular fashion if they get like that. Edit: Googled affordable dash cams, Apeman C450 is a common suggestion. Thoughts?
