I was somewhat dreading what they would do to Volvo's as time went on, worried they would ruin the styling and generally mess them up. I need not have worried since they really did a damn good job on that, honestly looks great.
Ordered a big bore kit to increase my scooters displacement from 50cc to 100cc. .1 liters of pure power. Should be able to do 50-55 on flat ground after break in and tuning.
I managed to spot a 6th gen mustang at the local ford dealer today it was in competition orange my mum didn't like the colour, I need to find a time to see it up close for some reason. yep I am definatly going to buy one after I finish my apprenticeship in 5-6 years time. life goals.
So on the page for the big bore kit I bought it looks like the valve springs are in upside down. That's comforting..
It kinda pisses me off when people complain about how expensive car maintenance is but refuse to learn to do it themselves. It's not rocket science. Go to a pawn shop and you can buy a complete set of stolen tools for under $100.
sadly lots of people are either too lazy or just don't have enough time to do it themselves which is great for the mechanic because work.
mum was literally horrified when I tried to do brake pads myself. The 7mm Allen key (rare size doesn't seem to be in any of my existing metric sets) and a torque wrench were only tools I had to buy, oh and a clamp I borrowed. I had the wrench already, but it and associated sockets I got for under £35 I think in a hardware store. The Allen key I did have to buy a new set to get, less than a fiver. Clamp probably under £10. Call it £50 in tools. Pads I think were £30. £80 then for the whole job including getting tools. I was quoted alot more at a garage...
I finally got to talk with the owners of these two BMW E23 7 series that I've seen around the neighborhood. Apparently, they've owned them since the early 90's and are wanting to sell them. I would seriously consider purchasing the black E23 if I had the space for it, and if my E46 wasn't a priority.
We might get rid of my Focus. It's been a check engine light nightmare, we changed the throttle position and O2 sensors and the check engine light is still on for them plus 3 more other things. The transmission is all messed up. It literally can't decide what gear to go into. After we thought we fixed the sensors my dad told me to test drive it, I was slowly accelerating and it continuously changes from 1st to 2nd, 1st, 2nd. going up hill it changes between gears faster than what gear you say it's in. If you get stuck behind a Focus it's probably going to be me.
Here is my craigslist posting for my Marquis. Let me know what you guys think, and if i should make any changes to it. https://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/5347439543.html
More pictures would help a lot. It can raise some eyebrows if there aren't any pictures of the engine compartment or interior.
Someone is coming to look at the car today after school. He tried to offer 1200 via text, but I told him I wont go less than 1500, so lets hope this goes well.
Can't get the variator off at all. Tried using a crowbar but I can't get a good grip on the damn thing. I need an impact..
I've always been wondering why Holden never sells their cars outside Australia. Or at least I haven't seen any. I'm sure they would sell well in other countries as well.
Actually they are sold in the USA, New Zealand, Britain & UAE. Over the years they have been sold in China, South Korea, Japan & Indonesia. Here is a selection of overseas Holdens
