My review of the Volkswagen Up!, in LHD form.

    0/5

Why, my boots dont fucking fit the footwell and I'm sat on the wrong fucking side of the car.

No seriously, the pedal placement in the Up! was quite strange, the throttle was almost behind part of the centre console and my UK sized 8 steel toed work boots (I mean a size 8 is by no means large, the opposite in reality) did not fit unless I used just the toe, but then braking was awkward. The brake pedal is also alot higher than the throttle so good luck with heel toeing that. Then there was a massive gap between clutch and brake, the brake was essentially where the throttle should have been and the clutch exactly where it should be, then the throttle tacked onto the end.
Plus being a german friends car and with her being alot shorter than me (and me kinda cheekily hopping in the car when she wanted to drive home for the night rather than this being an arranged thing that I was borrowing her car), I could not get my knee out from under the steering column to get out of the car XD

Speaking of Holden, there were three of them from the UK at Power Big Meet this summer in Sweden. I took the photo :)

That reminds me of driving my grandfather's 1954 MG TD. I wear size thirteen shoes, and the space between the clutch and brake petal was almost nonexistent. The bottom of the steering wheel was sitting in my lap as well. Long story short, It's not exactly the most ideal car to learn how to drive a manual on, especially when you're over six feet tall. :p

paint job looks kinda eh in person tho. Is a pretty bad macco paint job. They oversprayed on everything. Somehow they got paint on the tires too.

Looks pretty clean. Complete with a pine tree air freshener.
Macco really slacks with their prep process. Paint looks pretty good on camera though. Do your rear doors open from the inside?

Just curiously, what does yours idle at. Mine is about 800rpm in neutral, and 600 in drive. Is this normal?
