I just meant as in how a US gallon is not the same as a british gallon.

But yeah, higher mpg = less fuel burned. Whereas l/100km is higher number for more fuel burned.

Oh, yeah. Right. Ummmm..... I think you UK and US guys have to decide on a certain number. Doesn't make it more easy like this.....

Imperial gallons are 4.54609l per gallon. US is 3.78541. No idea which the germans use.

    Germans use liters.
And I really thought both were around 3.7 liters big. Good to know that now.

I actually don't drive aggressively at all. I drive like a grandpa if I'm not doing something dumb. I can count on one hand the number of times the pedal has hit the floor on that tank.
I blame the 3.55 rear gear and winter blend gas. I was averaging 16.5 with the same driving style in the summer.

What car do you drive and what fuel fuel are you using?

    2006 Crown Vic.
The P71 with the 3.55 rear gear is rated 16mpg city, which is what I was experiencing with completely suburban driving being pretty light on the throttle. The mileage has only taken a hit in the last month or two.
I always fill it with regular. 87 octane I think?

Have you tried going on the highway and really taking it on higher revs over a longer time? Since you Americans have no opportunities to go 150+km/h I would suggest you should drive in fourth gear some time. After that it should run smoother again, you know, engines have to really do some hard work sometimes to burn themselves free.
Aside from that, what you say makes sense.

Oh man, I can assure you I've thoroughly blown all of the crap out of the combustion chamber. It's been put through its paces.
It also gets occasional highway driving. The roads around here are so big that most of them qualify for the general definition of a highway anyway. The transmission puts itself in overdrive every chance it gets, so it spends a lot of time in 4th gear as well.

Hm. While writing "I don't have an idea either" I saw that there was that sentence "The transmission putsitself into overdrive every chace it gets."
Could that be a reason? Or just ask a mechanic or something.

The issue is the a 4100lb lump of steel powered by an inefficient V8.
I wouldn't have gotten a Crown Vic if I was concerned about fuel economy. I'll only start to worry if it drops down into the single digits.

I got to drive my grandfather's 1964 Jaguar E-Type roadster, and it was an absolute blast.

Sorry Skoda fans, I've always thought Skoda's cars were pretty nice looking but I just came across this in my news feed... This looks horrible, its like they molded a wagon then squashed down the rear end to make an ugly hatchback.

You have a grandfather that I envy you for. Can we swap for a day?
@HadACoolName You mean the big black glass pain on the rear? At least it doesn't look so mainstream like that.
