Apple just messed up. In a few tests now the Samsung chip has used up to 20% more battery, performed slightly worse, and gotten warmer than the 16nm TSMC. That's like saying the battery in your phone is 1715mAh but might randomly be 1375mAh if you're unlucky. I've got a Sammy 6s myself, if more proof comes in I'm going to an Apple Store and asking for a TSMC 6s. I also expect a class action lawsuit, though I'm not sure if I can legally join one.
Oh, you know that Apple will sue Samsung's ass off. I'll keep in mind this weekend when I trade in my 6 for a 6s. Assuming, of course, that the Sprint store (which is where I have to trade this phone in) knows the difference between a TSMC based and a Samsung based 6s. They won't. I'm sure that there is a difference in model number between the two? If so, what are they? Because I can ask for a model number directly.
Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement HDD for a laptop? I had a friend suggest a Western Digital Black Series 750GB HDD, but seeing some reviews on Newegg's saying they don't last even 2 months or out of the box. http://www.neweggbusiness.com/product/product.aspx?item=9b-22-236-561
Yea, WD drives aren't nearly as good as people believe them to be. I just put a Seagate Thin in my mom's laptop. It seems to be ok, and it's pretty fast even on a SATA II standard.
It does not matter if it is Sata II, III o Satan. xD To be honest, So far I've received two computers with HDD problems and those two HDD were Seagate (500GB and 2TB) here's the 2TB model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148834 29% negative reviews... And the 500GB one apparently was one of many Seagate HDDs that were sold with a firmware issue that basically turns your HDD into a brick. And the funny part was that they released a preventative firmware update that actually killed more HDDs. So yeah, needless to say that I wont recommend their HDDs for a long time.
Yeah, I had my seagate die on me a week or so ago. Was the original drive from my first gaming PC, a 1TB 7200rpm drive. It was almost 6 years old and it had 16000+ hours on it when i shut it down for the last time. Maybe not the most spectecular life but not bad really. It also gave me loads of warning and it copied the whole drive to my new 2TB WD Red just fine albeit with alot of noise. But yeah I feel like they are reasonably good overall and older drives i own are all seagate and have lasted twice as long. I have seen thier relability charts as of late however, which is the sole reason for me getting a WD this time. While they may well be fine for you in the end, its better to not take the risk imo.
I looked at some SSDs, but thing is, money's an issue, and looking at 600-750GB SSDs are out of my limit, and don't think the 512GB ones aren't going to cut it either, considering how much stuff I have right now. Another friend suggested in running an external HD, and I saw quite a few 1TB ones fairly cheap, but then there's the possibility I'll have to have a copy of Windows installed on that, and I don't really want to go through all that. Basically I'm trying to find something that I can attempt to do this myself and not have to bring it in to a PC Repair shop and pay them to do it, though hopefully I won't screw something up. But unless there's a 600-750GB SSD that's idk, maybe $100 or less, which I doubt, then HDDs are really my only choice.
Coming from someone who has owned a 120gb ssd for almost 2 years now, get the biggest you can afford. Unless you like clearing space and uninstalling stuff every 1-2 weeks or so. Sounds like you need a hybrid drive, those are quite great.
Heh, looked up hybrid drives and a bunch of Seagates popped up, though there are a couple of WDs, surprisingly cheap, especially the 1TBs.
Honestly, having been a user of a RAID cache drive (essentially a hybrid drive made up of a separate SSD and HDD thrown into hybrid mode as an additional function of a RAID controller) for quite some time, hybrid drives are *not* worth the investment. Still not convinced the money I spent upgrading the mSATA SSD from 32 to 120gb and treating it as a standalone drive instead of hybrid was worth it either. If you can get one for the same price as a non hybrid then sure, but otherwise the actual difference made? Virtually negligible.
Even the people in the app store will now know how to tell. No serial or anything between the two, only way to tell is to boot up the phone and install an app.
somehow BeamNG doesn't recognise my dedicated graphics card my graphics card in my new laptop is a NVidia GeForce 940m
I have tried all the steps still nothing don't tell me my new laptop isn't good enough. anyway here is the performance page.
