You're a perfect candidate for Apple products then Watch out though I heard they added some window snapping features in the latest OSX. Dangerous change stuff.
Take it easy now... My MacBook can't really run any OSX version after Mountain Lion. Poor thing is completely done, I've used it up. It's currently got Yosemite on it and it's completely unusable. The mobile Core 2's haven't aged as well as their desktop coounterparts. I want to trade it in for a Retina MacBook, but it won't really take all that much off being so old. And I'm not an iSheep, I use whatever is convenient at the time. Apart from my phone, I'll admit, I'd choose an iPhone over anything else 100% of the time.
Went to see the new 12" Macbook. Impressive design, but the keyboard is really shitty I like the MacBook Air a lot better.
I HATE the new MacBook with a passion. The keyboard sucks, it's to small, it thermal throttles like a bitch, it's underpowered yet somehow more expensive than an Air. I've already done a whole big rant on it.
Sold my desktop to pay off some outstanding bills I had, had enough left over to buy this. *edit* just curious to anyone who has a R9 280X how does this card perform in BNG, I expect to get better fps than what my GTX 760 gave me
Huh, small world Was on my watch list for the last few days. Should be quite a nice card though and is way better than a GTX 760 performance wise.
Indeed. Sorry I stole it from you. glad to know it should be a good card. I was originally going to get a 2GB GTX770, but then I saw this, cheaper, 3GB vram, dx12 support even though its slightly slower I think the extra vram will help with high res texture games like GTA 5 and such.
I have one. Dear god, just don't. It runs fine. However... not the most reliable bit of hardware I've owned. Over the course of two motherboards and two power supplies these things keep dying on me. and no matter what I do the fuckers run really HOT around the memory modules. so once a year I RMA this thing. A friend with this exact card also has issues, he's developed a screen flicker problem and ingame artifacting. I'm on the fourth RMA, he's on the second. Neither of us overclock it due to my issues mentioned above. I can only warn people not to buy the little sod baskets.
Thinking of a 290x now anyway. Never had any problems with past sapphire cards though (until it died when oc testing, but it was 3 odd years old)
The R9 380X was just released. 15% faster than a 380. Maybe I'll go with a couple of those for an upgrade. I'll decide when reviews start coming out.
Intel will release a 10 core/20 thread monster next year for broadwell-e. Probably about 3.4Ghz turbo, but that's what overclocking is for. Imagine playing beamng on that.
Ram, cpu and mobo came today just got it running memtest to make sure everything's fine. *edit* Passed Memtest so it's all fine! next step waiting for my GPU and digging out a old case to put it all in.
I'm completely sold on the 380X. It'll trade blows with cards more expensive than it, it's cheap, it just works. Now, Sapphire, ASUS, or my beloved XFX... Decisions, decisions.
Go XFX if you're not in Europe because they have really weird warranty stuff here, and else Sapphire. I'm probably also getting a Gigabyte R9 390 or a Sapphire 380X soon.
