1 drive in todays age is 1 more drive than most. You shouldnt have lag simply on the forums. Motherboard should be standard mATX.
I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on it to help with a lot of the lag But I am thinking about the idea of maybe putting Linux Mint MATE on it It tends to lag the most if I have the YouTube app open while typing on the forums with chrome The PSU (power supply unit) has another power cable for a second CD drive, but not a third SATA cable for a second CD drive and another one for a second hard drive, but it has 2 empty sata ports left for one more CD drive and one more hard drive But now there are 2 drive bays for 2 CD drives
Speaking of Ubuntu, it's completely borken for me. I just booted it up one day and I couldn't log in no madder what I tryed. I don't know what caused it to breake, but as long as it doesn't affect my Windows 10 installation (which it thankfully didn't) I don't really care.
You shouldn't have GPU problems. I have a PC with Intel G31 graphics, Windows 7 runs just fine, can run illustrator and even some older games with no problem. You might not have enough RAM - my C2Q PC has 2GB and it's just enough to run Win7 properly, can't have too many programs running at once. If you actually want to use that PC, you should have at least 4GB.
Just built my new pc Pentium mmx overclocked to 180Mhz, 32MB's of ram and TWO Trio S3 Graphics cards and a 10GB HDD for my OS, thing's a beast, I expect to run BeamNG maxed at 60fps over 100 without vsync. Yeah I know it's a beast. Don't be to jell.
Oh man I forgot to get a sound card! Wait I'm sure I have a Sound Blaster LIVE! around here somewhere.
I have a problem with my icons on my desktop: they keep moving around (also they get messed up when I change my screen resolution, but that's normal, although I would like a solution to that, too) so if I restart my computer my icons are in different places so it's impossible to organize them. Can someone please help me?
X-Post General Discussion because I forgot this also existed. Would something like this run BeamNG any better than my current laptop? The 10fps I'm getting out of the new T-Series mod is killing me. Think I'll turn this thing into a simple school machine. My current laptop can run GTA V on normal settings at around 30fps. Lowest settings at around 60. BeamNG is a different story. BeamNG would be the main target for this build. 45fps+ on higher to max settings would be the crazy target.
