Yeah, but my stuff will be on the WD Black and besides, we have an auto-backup system so everything is also stored on our home NAS.
Also if I reply tomorrow, it'll be from my iPad mini 2 because the upgrade takes place tomorrow.

Hey, back on my PC. Update on situation: new RAM works, new drive works (it's also a Caviar Black, not just a standard Black), new GPU doesn't. Because I have a 305 (?) watt PSU. And I need 396 to get past POST, 450 to be stable and probably 600 for stable turboboost (which I will NOT be doing). So, we're off on a quest to get a 500W PSU tomorrow.
Also, the RAM is 1333MHz server grade stuff. Don't know the company. And I've just got the drives separated, not in RAID 0/1. One SSD is the C drive, another is the page and Steam backup drive and the WD CB 2TB is my data drive.

That is the power of weirdness. I can easily shift between dumb, odd and intelligent while making jokes. That. is my. passion.

    Then you understand me? Good.

Erm... We have to talk about something computer related. We have to talk about something computer related. We have to talk about something computer related.

Also, I think a Corsair 450CM would do the job just fine. There is also the way cheaper VS450, but I think you might be better off with the high quality CM-version.

Okies, let's get this thread back on track. My friend has a web server. It has 256GB of RAM plus 4GB of auxiliary RAM. It has 200TB of flash drives plugged in. It is awesome.

You should get a CXm series at least, EVGA also has some very nice PSUs.

Btw, WD blacks are 7200 rpm.

Didn't you have an HD7750? Use it. The GT730 is terrible.

The 7750 won't work for some weird reason. My GT730 has 2GB of VRAM. Even if it only has 384 cores compared to the 7750's 800.

More VRAM doesn't mean better performance, if I were you I'd be trying my utmost to get the 7750 working, I've seen modern Intel integrated graphics chips out perform Nvidia's GT series cards. Oh and your cheap brand PSU scares the shit out of me, Don't put to much load on it. It say's 780w but I bet it's only good for 500 - 600 watts. If it blows there is a high chance it will take your whole machine with it.

What kind of PSU is it even? Is there a manufacturer sign on it?

I can verify. I threw an EVGA 500B in my sister's rug and it's extremely nice. It's really high quality, quiet, has sleaved cables, and is 80 Plus Bronze. It's overall nicer than the non-80 plus cheap Cooler Master PSU I'm running my much, MUCH nicer system with.

how common is it for these psus to have speed adjustment on their fans these days? Mine is on full time and the noisiest component in my rig, I hate it

"G7" apparently. If my math is correct according to the specs listed on the side of the unit in a picture I found online it's barely good for 400 watt's

Very. My PSU fan doesn't even run until my machine is under load. :)
