A 212 Evo with dual fans can outperform thin 120mm rads like the H55 or H60 for less money, liquid cooling doesn't really make sense at low budgets. The H80i GT is pretty good, but at £80 it's twice as much as the 212 Evo. --- Post updated --- 4GB is enough for 1080, good for 1440 but not future-proof. 4K, you'll want at least 6GB. Never used more than 3GB in 1080p, even with GTA V (nearly) maxed out (except for vegetation which causes massive framerate drops).
Alright, didn't know, I'll let you give more advice to him, although I'm really interested what the best possible improvement over a 212 Evo is as well. What about BeamNG and companions at 1080x2560 (21:9) on a 970?
In price to performance the 212 is really hard to beat - it's really good, really cheap, and if you slap another fan on it it's even better. If you need even more cooling though, you should go for either liquid cooling, or a bigger air cooler (Noctua NH-D15, Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3). Cheap AIO liquid coolers with thin 120mm rads don't really perform much better than a 212 evo and they're more expensive, so they aren't really worth buying unless you really care about looks. 21:9 1080 is probably at the memory limit. If you max out some really demanding games you might go over 3.5GB.
Good to know, thanks. I'm all about BeamNG and KSP, which is slightly less intense. There's just always that concern that the performance could suddenly become pathetic. As in R7 240-pathetic.
Stop. You're not giving us any details at all. It's impossible to help you. All I can say is, try logging out then back in.
I want to buy an LG 29EA93-P sometime in the near future. Comments, suggestions for other models and other stuff needed. Put plainly: Did I choose the right one, or is there something for about $400 that is way better? Note that it shouldn't be outside of 25-29 inches. EDIT: There are also the the 29UB67 and the 29UM67 which both seem to be pretty good as well, and about the same price.
The ASUS PB298Q looks pretty nice, and ASUS monitors are very good. LG is also great, though. Specs look similar, you should check out reviews for each.
OT check for virus' I concur I've had two LG monitors now and both of them have lasted me for years and have really nice panels.
Yea, I think I'll probably be getting a new monitor soon too, 1650 x 1050 is starting to feel very outdated. @ that draft save fail..
Will look for that. Have been really happy with my Iiyama E2273HDS so far, but sometimes there's just that wish for... more. Any sane human would say that it's enough since it's right in front of my face, but especially the width is something that you can never have enough of. I don't even think I'll buy it too soon, I just want to know what's best when I suddenly have that "now"-moment.
i know that feel. i had 2 24 inch, but wanted/needed more. I could have probably stayed with 2, but meh.
two 24's would be enough for me though. With which my wish for more and more and more is proven wrong. Well, a 29" 21:9 is like 1.5 24" 16:9s. I wonder how I could make my 22" survive.
Cracked open my PC for the first time in 6+ months (Other than to install more RAM back in like October) and cleaned it. Also redid the top GPU thermal paste, which I've been putting off for a super long time.. Case is all shiny again and the CPU/GPU are running nice and cool. In the last pic you can see some of the dust from it still floating around. (And yes, all the intakes are filtered..)
If I had to guess, I'd say they were computers. That's just me though. It's my PIII legacy rig and home server. Elite 8000 with a Q8400 and 750ti because why not.
Those are computers? Interesting. Wouldn't have thought about that at all... The Q8400 is, well... Quite okay? It's benchmarking better than a first gen i5-661 or an Athlon II X4 630. That's worth something I think?
