I contacted shop I bought it and they are going to replace it with new one, 7 year warranty in that thing that actually might work, but posting PSU out waiting new one to arrive, it will be days without a computer, how am I going to survive? I could always stress test old 300W Enermax that does not even have extra 12V connector to motherboard.
I once stress tested a CoolerMaster 500w power supply with a r9 290x and a I7 950 @ 4.4GHz, need less to say I popped it. I remember noting to my friend how I was going to get off GTA because it was putting out burning hot heat when I heard *crackle, crackle, PoP... Bang.* Thankfully it crowbar'd in time and saved the components a overvolting death. Guess I blew the arse end out of a rectifier or two...
That's neat I had once car stereo system with head unit and all hooked to PSU that was running 486 PC at the time, that did not fare too well either Found Seasonic SS-430HB from warehouse, I had no idea I own such PSU too, there my memory shines again, it was tight fit as that aux power to MB is tight as string of violin, but got it assembled somehow. Here is the thing, with this PSU I can hear GPU making all kind of whining and buzzing which I could not hear with other PSU. Fanless PSU is also very sensitive, it makes noises for example when street lights turn on at village which is several miles away, bit fluctuating power here. So while buzzing definitely was from PSU it might be that GPU is causing PSU to buzz or I just can't tell apart which one is buzzing. This GTX 1050 has no extra power connector, power comes from mobo so does it say that essentially it is mobo that is behind it all?
On another note, I think my 970 just failed. I left Beam running and had to leave my PC for a while, when I came back my monitors where on standby wiggled the mouse nothing. Restart resulted in artifacting when trying to boot Windows, after another restart I can get it to boot into windows but any load on the GPU kills it and my monitors go into standby... Already emailed MSI hoping to get it RMA'd, the thing that bothers me is that, I've never overheated this card, never overvolted or overclocked it either... Sucks to be me I guess...
Sometimes components just like to fail I guess two last ones are close to normal buzzing, but just thinking maybe indeed it is mobo making PSU to buzz too when load becomes greater. Fanless PSU + GTX 1050 430W PSU + GTX 1050 430W PSU + iGPU --- Post updated --- Hey, I get 125FPS with iGPU, why would you need dedicated GPU for this game?
Okay, after a little tinkering I'm 80% sure it's not my 970 now, I think it's one of the many peripherals I have hooked up to my PC, because it crashed with my HD 6870 in. I think the monitor's going blank and the artifacting the second time I booted it up threw me off a little sending me down the wrong rabbit hole. I'm suspecting my Anker USB 3.0 HUB being the issue
At least USB hubs are relatively inexpensive. I'm getting random shutdowns with both PSU's and without GPU so I think it is mobo issue, power circuit don't like if I put lot of load in and then let it be completely idle, pc shuts off cold like pulling the plug after random time load was ended. Still have 2 years warranty on mobo so should be no cost replacement, but who knows how long I'm without PC then.
Going from a 19" screen to a 24" curved one is like day and night ! (I know my old monitor looks stupid with the Wallpaper zoom on it) The thing I'm more impressed about is the curved, not kidding, I was really septical about it... But no, You really feel like you had better view angles and... It's really hard to explain but you really feel like if you was "in the screen".
