@Eastham @aljowen I just found out that there's a tower version with a normal size PSU for about the same price I suppose a corsair vs550 would be good for that because it would also provide expandability and wouldn't have to work too hard all the time. Which should mean it would be very stable, right?
While that PSU is 80+ rated I would recommend going for an 80+ Bronze rated PSU at least. The efficiency isn't really a big deal (power factor only matters for industrial applications, since they pay for electricity differently to homes), its just more likely to be a better design with better components (which hopefully results in longer lifespan and cleaner power delivery) and more safety cutoff features. For reference the 80+ spec range So for Corsair that would be the CX series of PSU's EDIT: Also worth noting that if you live somewhere with 230v power, the 80+ ratings mean something a little different.
Try a small form factor 750 ti. Thanks for giving me the idea for buying shitty computers and boosting them up with decent graphics cards.
I'm not sure I would go so far as to say good, but it certainly fine. Its pretty much equal to a stock clocked I5 2500k in terms of performance. Not that it makes much difference in most modern games, but in productivity software things are not going to look so favourable compared to current gen CPU's. Its certainly not bad though and if you only use it for games and occasional productivity its probably pretty ideal, especially for the money.
I'm the one here with an fx6350... --- Post updated --- In other tech talk, last night my mum's Moto X 2nd gen seemed to die, and started working again today. Later today, she dropped it while in town... the LCD and glass broke... while a tempered glass screen protector was on the phone. Just ordered a Moto G5 from John Lewis.
So after some fidling around i found out that its definatly the psu (again). Also the led wich was burning was for over voltage protection so i was lucky to have this motherboard or else i wouldve had a fried cpu and board and everything
I'm shocked that a brand new Corsair supply would die, are you sure there's nothing killing your power supplies? Your hardware is not going to push a 750 watt Power supply past it's limits and the fact you say again. Do you have any LED's or anything that could be shorted?
Could it may be that i have to graphics cards wich draw theyre power through the board so maybe it fried that then
If that happened you should be able to tell where heat build up or something Like the picture of my slot (at first it had heat damage then did its discolouring thing)
You're not allowed to do that within the PCIe spec, it's why evga and other companies do a pcie power injector. Though that would more likely fry your board not your power supply --- Post updated --- Dual 1.25ghz CPUs, 2gb DDR ram. Safari version copyright dated 2003-2011 yet still plays back YouTube. It does have the airport WiFi card. It can't connect to home WiFi, it predates wpa2
So amazon is sending a new power supply and ill have to send the old one in. Also i checked the ports more closely and they seem to be fine. Could it have overheated maybe? Normaly its around 30 degree celcius but its quite hot where i live so maybe it was running to hot? But then again it didnt get slower before it just suddenly shut down
Upgraded my pc recently, got a second harddrive(2 TB) my original 1tb hard drive was running out of space. later in the year i am hoping to increase ram from 8gb to 16gb, and upgrade my graphics card to a 1060 or 1080, i need suggestions for a good Graphics card
Id wait a bit for the new amd vega gpus even if you dont like amd maybe they bring the prices of the nvidias down a bit. I just recieved a email from msi wich said my problem has something to do with the cmos i tried resetting it and it still doesnt work so now i guess i have to wait and see if the new psu changes something
