Uni had done of those dell keyboards. Horrid things. Rattled as you typed. The HP elite's they were replaced by are much nicer. As is my Logitech k120 (cheap as fuck online)

I thought i had a K120. But it seems it is different. My Deluxe 230 looks the same as a K120, however it has longer key press lenghts. Would love to get a mech, but only keyboards here are those chicklit ones.

The fans are a bit expensive... overlooks the entire 6 grand in ram. Yours today only 24000. It could probably be done cheaper with a direct sales telephone call.

Hello, I have a friend who is in need of a new computer and has no idea on where to look, what to buy and what to do so I offered to help, he has a budget of 800, this is the best I can come up with (I know I didn't put down a OS on the list, he has people who can get him Win 7 for $20 :D)

Also, his current PC is.. weird, he has a really old QUADRO card, but his CPU is fine, its the same as mine (i7 4770) but his whole computer plays games like poop, getting 75 - 40 FPS in CS:GO.

That build is fine, but the CPU will perform poorly. You are also going over your budget and you don't even have a case.

Also, if he has an i7-4770 in his current PC, he can reuse that, it is a great CPU (I am assuming it is a pre-built, so the motherboard will have to be replaced). You just need to take it apart and remove the CPU, very easy task really.

Here's a great build with the 4770 from his current PC: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ttRcrH

If using the CPU from his current PC is not an option, you could go for either of these, both are very good:

I'm aware that the CPU will run poorly... at stock speeds, but if you OC it doesn't it turn into a i7 4670 for $80? idk :p but thanks for replying, both look better than the build I posted, he's selling his computer, so no CPU to re use there :p I reckon the AMD CPU will do better than the i3, so I'll talk to him about that, I also think he wnats to record with shadowplay, so do you just need a GPU that supports it or GPU and CPU that supports it? :D

CRAP! I forgot, this is all in USD!!! Can you try and make it in AUD? Otherwise this is over $1,000 :(

It's only a dual core, even i3's have four threads. Some of the latest games won't run at all on two cores, so I can only recommend the G3258 for budget builds in the $500 range.

I'll assume you meant i7 4770, in which case, no. The 4770 is a hyperthreaded quad core CPU, meaning it has 4 physical cores and other 4 virtual 'cores'. The G3258 is a dual core CPU, and since it's not hyperthreaded you only have 2 threads.
For desktop CPUs, core/thread count is like this:
    Pentium (Gxxxx): 2/2
    i3: 2/4
    i5: 4/4
    i7: 4/8, 6/12*, 8/16*

    *only on Enthusiast platforms (X58, X79, X99)

Shadowplay will work with any CPU and all Nvidia 900, 700 or 600 series GPUs.

Aren't parts much more expensive in Australia? I'll try, but I might have to use my $600 build instead.

EDIT: They are, you're pretty fucked. My AMD $600 build is AUD 850 and that's without the motherboard which is unavailable. I'll try to get something decent for 800.

    Well, here ya go m8
    http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/CsQknQ

Had to downgrade my $600 AMD build a bit, but the 270 is still a very good card (performs very well, I had one until last month), you get MSI's awesome Twin Frozr cooler, and the motherboard is actually better than the ASUS on my AMD builds. It even has a windowed case and matching colours on the board and GPU. Would look totally awesome.

It's not that bad here in the UK, but yes, everything is so much cheaper in the US. I think they have it even worse than both of us in Germany and other European countries. Last time I checked a GTX 970 was €400 in German PCPP.

Edit: Yep, that same AUD 800 build is an €800 PC in Germany, WITHOUT the motherboard or case. Holy crap. For reference, it costs about $570 in the US and £480 in the UK, with all parts.

That is kinda the MSRP. There is usually one shop selling it for $299 around the web. The 4690k seems to hover from $219 to $179 depending.

to be fair though, lenovo is pretty much one of the best when it comes to pre-builts and reliability (heck, someone on this forum has a laptop from lenovo that got smashed in a car door or something like that, it still worked fine afterwards)

    pLhk6aE.jpg

mine has been extremely reliable, never had a problem with it, the black silk keyboard is also pretty good for a rubber-dome if i do say so myself, although it's heavier then it looks

question, does the H61 chipset support usb 3.0? i'd like to get a usb 3 pci-e 1x adapter for my pc, but i have no idea if my MB's chipset even supports that, and i can't find anything on google

If I remember correctly, it doesn't matter, because it's on a PCI-e lane, rather than a USB lane.
