Thank you so much for your answer I wan't to ask another question. Is Pentium G2358 will be bottleneck with GTX 960 ? (<bad english FTW) Sorry for asking a lot of question Thanks again
He's gonna give a shit in about 30 or 40 seconds. Also, looking for a new monitor. What should I get? I really, really don't want to spend more than $300, would rather a higher resolution than 1080, and is 24 or 27 inches.
BenQ GL2460 24", 60Hz, and 1920 x 1080 It's $200, and you get adequate built-speakers, tilt adjust, and 1ms response time. I can also vouch for it because it's right in front of me
So Broadwell desktop CPUs released a month ago, and until now I'd never heard of them. They are lower clocked than Devil's Canyon, unlocked, and have Iris 6200 graphics which are pretty awesome for an iGPU. i5-5675C and i7-5775C. C seems to stand for unlocked with better integrated graphics. The problem is they're not only late but also absolutely pointless. Devil's Canyon are better enthusiast CPUs (clocked higher and better for oc), and you won't use integrated graphics anyway.
There will be a reason why they exist. Whether that be OEM'S, business or whatever. Intel may launch many parts that seem irrelevant to the enthusiast crown but those parts will have their own market.
That's what the R processors are for (BGA socket, Iris graphics). The non-K processors could use the better graphics, sure. But it does seem pointless to add better graphics to an enthusiast grade CPU where nobody will use them. That's why the E series have no iGPU at all, they are already expensive enough without one.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't BGA instead of a socket and not a type of socket? I hate BGA CPUs either way.
Is a laptop with a i7-4710MQ, 8GB, Nvidia Quadro K1100M 2GB a good investment for the upcoming years? It's a possible replacement for my current laptop. Running Catia, Matlab etc is its main purpose, but I would like to run Blender & BeamNG (amongst other games like Assetto Corsa) as well on a fairly good setting.
It might work for a while, but it's rare enough that desktop hardware is a good investment for a few years, nevermind laptop hardware. I don't think any kind of mobile CPU will get good framerates with BeamNG, i7 or otherwise.
My current laptop is almost 6 years old, besides the hardware is old and therefore it's slow (but BeamNG runs! ), I've never had any problems. (Replaced the memory under warranty, HDD for a larger one and the battery twice). I used to prefer desktops as well because of the performance/costs ratio, but I've to carry it with me (it will be a 15.6") and it has to be able to run Catia and Matlab etc on location. So it should have some performance, buying a fairly good laptop and a nice gaming desktop is out of the question. Just wondering how good Beam and AC will run on it.
Yeah, it saves like 2mm of space but it ruins upgradeability and increases the price of a motherboard since the CPU is part of it.
My laptop used to have a 2.4GHz CPU. Now it has a 3GHz CPU. Guess what? I didn't have to replace the motherboard to do that. BGA GPUs over MXM GPUs do make sense to me because of just how thick MXM GPU cards are compared to BGA ones, but I still prefer the upgradeability.
Just built a htpc in a Macintosh classic case. Core 2 duo and 4gb of ram, nvidia geforce 6400gs. all parts i had laying around, and im not expecting extreme performance also, its kinda ugly.
because the motherboard was dead and the analog board was dead. i tried repairing both, the mb was toast, the analog board has a bad flyback. and its been sitting around for about a year. also, could not have sold locally because no market for vintage items in my area. trust me i have tried. i also have over 10 other vintage macs, so the loss of this one doesnt affect me. i buy the macs for the value. i get them cheap and will hopefully sell them and profit
