Re: General discussion chat A woman got an automatic only driver's license last year here in Spain and it was news on TV .
Re: General discussion chat Just imagine the space parking in a truck. I have less than a foot of space on both sides of the truck on a regular basis. It sometimes takes me 5 minutes to gingerly get out of my truck. I hate it so much. I want a small car, like now.
Re: General discussion chat Some people have wondered why I'm replacing the header and flex pipe on my car. This is why. Don't mind all of the fluid dry, it's getting all the brake fluid this car seems to dislike so much.
Re: General discussion chat its easy, you fit remote window wind down somehow, wind the window down, climb out onto the roof of the car next to you. With the remote you can open and close it again at will to protect against theft (although they could just smash it)
Re: General discussion chat year? because if 2003 those dealerships are spewing bull, my family has a 2003 ford expedition, and the only time we ever have it go to the floor is when holding the brake to start the car (or when we are at a full stop while in gear/drive as well as when in reverse)
Re: General discussion chat That doesnt sound even remotely fine to me, hell, sounds like it would fail an MOT over here
Re: General discussion chat well, can't really say anything for that year, but i imagine the brakes didn't change to much between 2003 and 2008 (actually, the expedition didn't really change at all, at least until the 2015 model comes out (obviously there are changes, although not really big differences)) but that brakes not doing anything until all the way to the floor, and even then not much really does not sound correct at all
Re: General discussion chat Or I could get a sliding window for the rear window. Then I can just open it and escape onto the truck bed.
Re: General discussion chat There's something likely wrong with the master cylinder (in my mind, anyways). But I'm not a mechanic.
Re: General discussion chat it kind of sounds like brake fluid to me. is the brake pedal resistant at all? or does it just feel like it's not connected to anything (i'm also not a mechanic, but i'm pretty sure that brake fluid has to do with resistance on the pedal itself)
Re: General discussion chat There's plenty of resistance. The system holds pressure really nicely. It's just during driving on the highway does the pedal get really soft.
Re: General discussion chat i don't know then, but there's definitely something wrong with the brakes, unless ford made them softer during high speeds on the 3rd gen expedition (which i doubt)
Re: General discussion chat Well, I managed to disable the seat sensor on our mower. The switch is on a metal plate that's held in place by bolts with a spring on them. I just took out the spacers between the plate and the seat then tightened the bolts all the way so the switch is always being pressed.
Re: General discussion chat The brake pedal in the rx isn't spongy, and it holds pressure great, they just don't stop the car. If your brake pedal is spongy there can be a number of problems, but if the pedal is firm, you just have shitty pads or something. - - - Updated - - - I just cut the wires and tied them together on mine lol. It was like a curved plastic stick thing that, when straightened out, let the current flow. I didn't feel like messing with it.
Re: General discussion chat I got most of my driving hours (required in Michigan for a licens) in my moms 2012 GMC Acadia and those breaks would travel and then become suddenly very hard and unresponsive compared to my 2008 Saturn Astras breaks... I almost rear ended someone in my moms car because of how the breaks traveled. It took my dad until the time we traded it in to realize this. Moving my dad's company car in the driveway (normally a up level GM make) is rathe scary because of how different the steering and breaks are. It doesn't help that he sits so damn far away because of his hight...
Re: General discussion chat I absolutely love gemmaarrowsmith's videos. Humor mixed with a serious message behind it in every video. Fantastic.
Re: General discussion chat I was with my sister in her car today. Apparently her brakes work perfectly fine but there's like 4 different brake related lights on the dash and the little screen says "STOP" in really big letters. (00 Passat. Just got stuff like the rotors and pads replaced.)
Re: General discussion chat Rode home with a junior the other day. He's got an early 2000s yukon. I swear he has an exhaust leak lel.
