Re: General discussion chat Corvette engine with a top speed of 280 KMH its a sports car trapped inside a ute's body.
Re: General discussion chat My dad's laptop's hard drive died a few days ago. Not sure what to do with it. Torn between trying to revive it and beating the shit out of it with a baseball bat.
Re: General discussion chat You must have seen enough about utes on here by now. Originally those cars are normal saloons (or sedans or whatever you want to call them in whatever country) and then they later released models with the rear converted to a pickup. So actually its not a pickup trying to be a sports car, its a saloon trying to be a pickup, most notably its an aussie saloon which means its also a saloon trying to be a sports car at the same time, so a ute ends up being a saloon trying to be a pickup truck and a sports car at the same time which is just totally awesome. Hell, skoda even did this in the 90's. Take a normal skoda favorit or felicia (going with felicia for these pictures because I love them): Then you chop the back off, replace the rear suspension and turn it into a little pickup truck: I do love the felicia pickup trucks but won't be owning one. Still I know a guy that successfully moved house with nothing but his pickup and his wife's ford focus, gets the job done.
Re: General discussion chat I found this funny. I believe my sense of humor is broken. Well the first minute or so is funny, but after the music starts playing he goes off the deep end.
Re: General discussion chat Trying to decide weather or not I need to buy a laptop for school. I'm torn between my single core sadness or my Mac which I swore never to leave the house with. The single core sadness is an HP Pavilion G60-507DX. Intel Celeron 900 2.2 GHz and 2 gig of ram. Took it last year only to have to use one of the school laptops because it wasn't powerful enough, stupid 3D models of DNA.
Re: General discussion chat Depends, if you can see yourself using it a lot. Take it. If not just use a school one. If you really want to be nerdy shove a copy of Zorin OS on it. Its pretty easy to use and runs a bit like windows but fancy looking. Since its linux its a bit more lightweight on the system. I think it comes with libre office pre installed too so you should be up and running, for web browsing you get ice weasel pre installed (pretty much firefox but also fancy) . Of course only do this if it will be used for standard document editing and web browsing. If you need to run windows only software it may not be a great idea.
Re: General discussion chat Don't doubt my engineering. The ones we use at school are somehow even more worse. Core 2 Duo's and single core AMD Semprons litter it. But they do run better than that HP, although, not all that much better. I'm considering purchasing a "reliable POS", a cheap worthless computer with some flaws but still runs like a top. I think that and Zorin OS would be almost perfect.
Re: General discussion chat Or redrobin, you can put Crunchbang (#!) on it. But you may need some searching to find wireless drivers, though, if you need it. Crunchbang runs great on a P4, and 512MB of RAM. It also comes with Iceweasel and it can preinstall LibreOffice for you automatically during install. Sent from my Inspiron 3542 using Tapatalk
Re: General discussion chat I second #!, pure no nonsense distro there. Debian based so easy enough to use. Qualcomm atheros wireless chipset in my laptop was supported out of the box.
Re: General discussion chat So I was playing around smashing a Covet, and it turns out to be a mini Hilux. The fender actually popped off randomly later... This son of a bitch still runs.
Re: General discussion chat I've played with Crunchbag before, didn't particularly like it. I may try Mint or Zorin. ReactOS is built on a completely proprietary kernel, similar to the Windows NT kernel. I may give it a swing as well.
Re: General discussion chat I just had a random leg spasm and slammed my knee into the bottom of this table really hard. Ow I just went on craigslist in the jobs section for the hell of it, and found this lol http://knoxville.craigslist.org/tfr/4624028768.html I wonder if I could do something like this during the summer...that's pretty good pay for what it is.http://knoxville.craigslist.org/lab/4623820426.html A lot of jobs like that you have to be 18, though. :|
