I have to go to school for an olympiad, but i`m just sitting at home, drinkin coffee and listenin some music. Maybe it`s the best choice, when the outside temperature is -25 Celsium #JustSiberianThings
Last year i ivisted siberia in winter (was a stupish idea) and it was simply freezing --- Post updated --- Sorry not last year in 2014 for a moment i tought we are still in 2015
First moscow then Kachkanar (or something like that) Was a family trip (in middle of russia what a smart idea)
Kachkanar is a middle Russia, it`s placed in Ural. And I live in western Siberia - it`s on a plain (not in mountains), but I think, we have similar temperatures with Ural. The hell starts in north-east Siberia - there are mountains, and this is continental part of Asia, it is placed really far from seas. So there is very dry air and like -50 degrees permanently. Anyway, air in Saint-Petersburg (rus, not usa) is really wet, so -10 there feels like -20 in my homeland.
If anyone wants a bit of fun the website in the spoiler linked below should crash any Apple based web browser as well as apparently turning chrome into a RAM black hole (although I haven't tested them). Although Firefox is safe from this one since it goes unresponsive for a few seconds and then continues to function. Also, it goes without saying, don't click the web link unless you actually want to try and crash your web browser. Spoiler crashsafari.com Its in the spoiler to make it more difficult to click
It's funny. The vitara pistons are DIRT cheap and when put in the d series engine, they yield really low compression so a lot of budget turbo builds make use them. How the hell did they figure that out? How did they know they would fit those rods?
It turns chrome into a cpu hog and locks it at 100%.. although im on my laptop so my cpu doesnt take much to be maxed out.
On that note one would hope that the web browser on a tesla is not connected to anything important... One would hope, looking at no one in particular toyota.
It works. Maxes out 2 CPU cores and uses 7GB of RAM. Causes my phone to reboot. To be fair, calling tens of thousands of queries per second is really rather unfair.
It struck me as rather unbelievable, as Suzuki was in the GM orbit at the time along with Toyota, and Honda was nowhere in that picture. As for how they found out? All kinds of possible ways: -Someone had both a Vitara/Tracker and a Civic, had them both open simultaneously for some reason, and mixed up the parts by mistake. -Hillbillies messing around with junk cars, trying to keep them running/repurpose parts/just trying to find out what will happen. -Maybe there's some big book out there we don't know about that lists all sorts of minute data about parts and can be used to determine unexpected cross-compatibilty? Now, the real question is, can you put the Honda pistons in the Vitara and use them for a high compression N/A build?
These are all great points and questions. It's amazing to see what crafty people come up with when they have more will to go fast than they do money. A real fun example is using loctite on rod bearings to keep them from spinning when the oil pressure drops in race motors.
