I can agree on that. can I add that to my sig? I wonder if that would be introduced into schools imagine that.
Mello Yello ftw. Actually, I have a bone to pick with Mello Yello. It was released in 1979 by Coca-Cola to compete with Pepsi's Mountain Dew in the citrus soda segment. It hasn't ever really done too well, with Mountain Dew outselling it by ridiculous amounts. Because of this, Coke kinda gave up on the brand, but kept producing it in pretty limited amounts. In 2010, however, they revived it. It got a new can, marketing campaign, was pushed to more stores and restaurants, and was actually cared about for the first time in well over a decade. The new can was bright yellow, with orange and green text overlaid on lemons and limes in the background. It's a mellow looking can, fitting for a drink called Mello Yello. The lines are smooth, the text is laid back and wraps around the can smoothly, its The Original Smooth. The bright colors draw your eyes to it as well. It seemed to be almost a throwback to the drink's roots, with the original can having a somewhat psychedelic design. It was comforting and pleasing to the eyes. In late 2015, though, Coke went to the drawing board again with the drink, once again revamping the marketing campaign. They wanted to give the drink a more rugged and tough attitude, to appeal to the outdoorsy type, an older demographic than the previously targeted teens and young adults. What they've done with the brand is nothing short of an atrocity in my humble opinion. This is the new can. What is that? What's mellow about that can? Can't have a modest looking can these days, cause god forbid someone sees you drinking something that isn't just oozing with masculinity. It's gotta be in your face, like it has something to prove. I mean, the design itself isn't bad looking at all, it actually looks pretty cool. It just goes against everything the've built up about the brand for nearly the past 40 years. It isn't Mello anymore. I think this is the dumbest thing I've ever ranted about.
Should I be impressed or embarrassed for you for making such an in depth analysis of a certain brand of soft drink. My god man.
It was a damn good read. You could get published in soft drink weekly as a columnist specializing is contemporary drink brands.
That has to be the worst train journey I have had yet. First train was running 3 mins late, not a problem. Get to next train station, I get on the wrong train because they were all running 10 mins late and both trains went to the same place (london), its just that the one that I got on didn't stop anywhere in between. Managed to get off that one just before it left the station. Then I got on the correct train. Then while on that train it was announced that there was a potential fatality on the railway track. 15 mins later it was a confirmed fatality. So the train was sat waiting in the platform for 30 mins after that. Then they managed to get a path to the next station which was where two lines crossed. So I was able to ditch that train early and then I had to wait at that station for a further 40 mins until a train that used different rails to get to the same place arrived. As far as I am aware all trains running between London and the North are currently heavily delayed or cancelled. Currently I am just happy to have actually arrived. Unlike my flatmate who is having to wait until 7pm for his train due to delays. Also props to the Virgin train staff for being awesome.
Yeah, I went to the drag races at Bristol last summer and they had a Tundra wrapped in the old decals. It looked cool, but I can't find any pictures of it. It was part of this thing. Probably just out of frame.
