I woke up this morning and discovered that I tried to explain religion. What in the hell was I on at the time?
What the phug? That was just a nighmare, don't worry. I hope you have found the mighty Agonosticism finally.
How do you debug an error that only happens when you run the executable but does not happen when you click run from within visual studio? When I run from within Visual studio everything works fine with no error messages. Yet when I run it outside of Visual studio I get a "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error.
What Visual Studio version are you running? It sounds like exception catching is disabled when debugging. (Unfortunately it seems this is the default now :/)
Enterprise 2015, Could you please explain that a little further (or link to an explanation), thanks The line of code that is being given as the issue does not have any try/catch statements around it. This is the line of code: foreach(Note myNote in module.Notes()) With module.notes being: List<Note> notes;
While your app is running, head into VS, and on the bottom of your screen you should find an Exceptions tab. Make sure Common Lanuage Runtime is checked.
That would seem to do the trick, thanks. That is a bit bizarre as a design choice to not inform me of errors that my program encounters. That was a really easy fix too once I was able to get it. Just needed an if statement to catch any null issues with empty lists. Wow, this program was actually throwing errors all over the place and VS never mentioned any of them
Just bought a Portal 2 turret... Yeah... And one of the reviews for another Portal 2 thing is this...
