I helped get some parts off of an old JDM Nissan Primera that was heading to the dump i managed to remove some speakers out of it. The taillights were a pain in the ass to get off as they were stuck to the car with some sort of sealant. We had to start it using a screwdriver.
Welp, got the delivery window for the computer, 13:00-14:00 (GMT). Waiting by the window looking out for a dpd van. Fun fact - looking at the repair report, the brand new GTX970 was ruined, probably by the 634.72 drivers. They have installed earlier ones on this one, so fingers crossed.
Welp, something happened. (And there are similar reports of GPUs having to be replaced after the new drivers)
https://www.reddit.com/r/darksouls3...he_latest_nvidia_driver_364_is_bricking_gpus/ --- Post updated --- I chose the perfect tine to get a new computer. :/
Both Nvidia and AMD have screwed up multiple times in the past. Nvidia has accidentally bricked cards with driver updates and AMD has accidentally melted cards with driver updates. Its part of why automatic updates can be a bad thing. Since if it is automatic you can't search for issues before you switch. Something that is quite interesting is that you hardly hear people complaining about CPU issues while graphics cards seem to be held together with prayers. It would be interesting to know why Intel and AMD seem to be capable of creating somewhat bulletproof CPU's yet Nvidia and AMD can't make their GPU's as robust.
garbage drivers on all sides. i think they should put 5 or 10 years into completely redoing directx and or anything else related to gpus. the hardware we have today could last 10 years easy if it was being used to its full potential. the whole complex of consoles being more efficient because they have one hardware configuration is case in point that we need a revolution. now someone here who knows programming will tell me "thats easy for you to say as an end user, you don't understand how hard it is." my response is simple; the wright brothers had it hard inventing the airplane. shut up code monkey, and keep typing on your little keyboard until my gaming experience improves. if programming was so hard, id have bothered to have mastered it by now, just as soon as i learn how to do basic long division.
i tried to learn html in grade school. you wouldn't believe how far i didnt get. i dont understand what it will take to achieve what i laid out, but i dont care. im a selfish american consumer, and i feel as though i have a right to complain about pretty much anything. all i need to do now is watch football and gain 150 pounds and ill be the complete package.
and so because you cant work out a few simple tags (btw, html, aint a programming language...) thats a valid reason to degrade the skill it takes to program. Logic...
relax i was breaking balls. i actually think over the next 20 years, the world will be shaped more by programmers than anyone else in the world. programming to me is like war. i dont care to participate, but i care dearly for the people that do and am always excited to see the outcome. Edit: the tone i take is also being used to lampoon the stereotypical american attitude as seen from a European perspective. i find stereotypes to be entertaining and love playing the "typical american" for my European friends.
But drivers killing cards is something that seems to keep happening regardless of whether you card is red or green: http://www.zdnet.com/article/warning-nvidia-196-75-drivers-can-kill-your-graphics-card/ http://modcrash.com/nvidia-display-driver-damaging-gpus/ http://www.anandtech.com/show/9823/amd-releasing-new-crimson-drivers-for-gpu-fan-issue https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterra..._bugged_new_drivers_killed_my_gpu_and_others/
I don't know how, I don't know why, but suddenly ROBLOX shot up in popularity in my school. Our power technology class just consists of playing FPS games on there now.
Same here, except they play on RP servers. I miss the days of Halo, honestly. Once got the entire programming class in a game. Hilarity ensued.
