I believe a huge cause, maybe the largest cause of the general stupidification of the general public can be best explained in a novel written by Aldous Huxley called "Brave new world". The book posits, correctly I believe, that this phenomenon is largely due to the general public being bombarded by so much Information by the government and the media, that they simply stop trying to cut thru to the truth and everything just turns Into noise and entertainment. Before the Internet, when information traveled it was important and people listened. Most blame politicians, but I blame the journalists and news networks who do not uphold their duty to the public. That duty is to conduct skeptical investigative journalism, not host an "evening news program" that consists of partisan hacks shouting talking points at eachother. The us presidential election is a circus. Every time trump opens his mouth or hillary gets caught in a scandal they make a fortune on add space. You want to know the truth about anything? Don't watch tv, just follow the money. But what do I know? I'm just a disenfranchised young adult who likes to get stoned and play video games.
It's a work in progress. Getting coffee I saw a police sergeant with a patch that said driving instructor on it. I could tell by the way he carried himself that he was the real deal. I'll let you know the next time I spend a night at the bacon hotel so you can get a good laugh.
uhhh, aside from whatever argument is going on, how is Brave New World? Coincidentally, I've just started reading it (still on the first few chapters about the Director's Tour) and I'd like to know what you think of the rest of the book. Given you've read it, of course.
I do want to point out that this article is, in fact, from the Daily Mail. The publication that once won an award for the most poorly-researched article. The publication that once plagiarized an article from comedy website Cracked.com. I may have had only glaring experience with the Mail, but what experience I've had shows it to be a somewhat alarmist publication that skimps on facts to support the author's intended purpose, at best. Actually, extremely bad journalism plays into your later point pretty well, so your hatred for humanity at large is still sound.
I've had this old van outside my house in the distance for like 6 or more weeks so today I got bored and went to look around. Apparently its only done 78k miles too, somehow. Dropbox album with more pictures and things.. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/89ovher35si3vt3/AAAcCNrcaDHA_1ESe0EB0Wrna?dl=0
