Re: General discussion chat Get the Acura. My mom had a '99 Ford Taurus and a '00 Mercury Sable one after the other. She hated those cars. My mom is one of those people who will drive almost anything with four wheels, so long as it works. I constantly heard her complaining about the maintenance issues. The mechanic had to take off the entire front bumper just to see the radiator, which she had to replace in both cars. Gas mileage wasn't much better, either. Her average MPGs were only in the mid-20s on a good day. Don't even think about the Sable. It may be a Ford-built sedan, but it couldn't be a Crown Vic if it tried. It's not worth the repair bill. This was Tapatalk's idea, not mine.
Re: General discussion chat So I had something quite strange happen to me today. I was stopped at a stop sign in the right turn lane. There was a Chevy Avalanche in the left turn lane right beside me. He was pulled up so far that I couldn't see much so I was trying to look at the traffic to my left through his windows. The driver just started staring at me with this pedo smile and held up a giant pink dildo and was waving it around at me. Needless to say I ignored him and drove away.

I hate it when people driving by shout something, this happens a lot to me for some reason anyways theirs not much you can do except give em the bird. But one time a bunch of stupid high school punks with the music cranked up were slowly driving by me and some guy shouted some things (trying to impress his GF I think) I was pissed and threw a lit cigarette butt in the open window it actually landed on the guy and the way he screamed was priceless. I shouted a few things back and they drove away without another word. I do feel a bit bad for this but they started it.
Re: General discussion chat You can never have too many GTA converts. I just split the model into the parts BeamNG uses, now to Jbeam the car. I'm using the GM Jbeam as a base, because the Moonhawk is body-on-frame and I didn't want to change the entire model, which is unibody (like all cars in gta). If I ever do the Sabre GT I will use the Moonhawk Jbeam and frame model because it's nonsense for that car to be unibody. - - - Updated - - - I didn't post that in development screens because I don't want to spam it until this is actually in-game. - - - Updated - - - Well, it's something at least. Now I only need to fix the textures, wheels, and suspension and I can get to adapting the Jbeam. And posting it in the development thread.
Re: General discussion chat the 24V DOHC is a great engine...However, the AX4N tranny they are mated to are somewhat unreliable. Unless you take it easy. I have seen multiple Taurii/Sables in the 1996-2004 range that approached 350K miles. Reliable enough And a good condition Duratec will take care of you, promise.
Re: General discussion chat Can you all just stop with these shitty converts? The all deform like a pile of what comes out of ass. Everyone just slaps the model on the fullsize jbeam and don't even bother to edit it. It would be great if people actually try to make legit content for this and more people will come over to the game community. As of right now I see no legit content that takes effort to do. Now just stop with the converts. Half of the time the materials aren't even done right cause the person doesn't even bother to look at the wiki and what not. One of the only people I see making good legit content is Gabester. Gabester is putting a lot of work into the vehicles for you guys and you guys just decide to slap a poorly converted model onto the jbeam that takes he a lot of time to make. My point is, is atleast attempt to model instead of poorly converting models that aren't even suppose to be ported into another game.
Re: General discussion chat If I'm remembering correctly some of the AX4N transmissions were made in the US and the rest were made in Japan. The ones that were made in the US were the ones that had the majority of the problems and the ones made in Japan were overall very reliable. I might be thinking of another tranny but I know they were used in the Taurus.
Re: General discussion chat You didn't even read my post, did you? I'm planning to adapt the Jbeam to have the actual shape of the car. I'm not gonna slap a GTA model on the GM Jbeam and call it done. The model is also edited, and split into parts for BeamNG. I didn't just import it and export it as DAE. There is a lot more work into a convert that you think. I could make my Jbeam from scratch, but since this is the first time I ever make something for BeamNG (other than a silly longer Pigeon), I decided to make my life a bit easier and use one of gabe's Jbeams as a base. What I posted is the first progress I've made. I got something in the game. It didn't crash. I'm happy enough about that. Now I'm adding the textures and fixing the mesh placement issues. And the only reason why I'm making a convert from GTA is because modeling a car takes a long time and I just don't want to go through that for my first ever Jbeam. You know, everyone has to start somewhere. Sorry for not making an absolutely perfect real world car with every single god damn part modeled and Jbeamed from scratch. Thanks for the motivation. Arsehole.

Re: General discussion chat Xtake does have a point to a certain extent, take a Russian mod for example. But a convert can also be good depending on the effort put forth in the mod. No hate is required from either party here.

If I was one of those oversensitive pussies who actually give a shit about people's opinion I'd probably have left my project from that. Luckily, I don't give two flying damns what you think or say. Not a single one of us has put 10's of hours of our own time into anything that we have made or learning how to make it. Nope, somehow we all miraculously manage to spit out content within an hour with no real effort needed. Seriously though, people here put a ton of effort into what they do, what you said is just obnoxious.
Re: General discussion chat Those are not on the forums. Of course the mods on pirate sites are horrible. The only reason why I haven't edited the Jbeam yet is because I have more urgent issues (textures, fixing the model being displaced from the structure). I'm not going to leave it like that. And if you think I shouldn't post at such an early stage in development, you can stick that opinion right up your arse. I can post whenever I damn please. I got my first car in game, I'm happy about that, I don't give a shit if you don't like it. I'm just gonna stop wasting my time arguing with you and get back to work.
