I live on the East Coast and I didn't feel anything either. :p All jokes aside, that has to suck. Just that whole earthquake thing doesn't really sound too comforting to me. I was kinda in one. It was an aftershock from an earthquake in Maine, I think, that somehow hit Southern New Hampshire. Wasn't too big, though. I think the aftershock that hit my house was only a magnitude 4.something less than five. But even that weak one kinda freaked me out. One second, I'm typing an essay for English and next thing I know, EVERYTHING IS SHAKING. I don't like that shit. You Californians stay safe out there, especially those of you in the Bay Area.

My laptop got hot so I froze a wet paper towel and stuck it on the bottom.

Just decided to take it to the next level and stuck a frozen washcloth to the bottom of it.
The keyboard feels noticeably cooler and the washcloth is on the bottom. :D

Vacuum your air intake to get that dust out of the heatsink fins. Make Dalek happy. You'd actually make a cute couple. Just saying.

Why not just throw that laptop into a lake and put it out of it's misery?

Seriously though, are you retarded or just kidding? (Please just be kidding.)

I think you got the wrong end of the stick when someone mentioned liquid cooling to you. The idea is to cool something, not kill it so that it will no longer heat up.

    Neither.
    I'm bored.
This is what happens when you give students laptops and don't even take a damage deposit. :|
The bottom of the computer isn't even damp.

I live about 20 miles west of the epicenter so there was some moderate shaking here, but no damage. 6.0 is pretty big, it's the biggest we've had since Loma Prieta in '89.

You'd have to douse this thing in water to get any inside of it anyway. There isn't a single hole on the bottom. It's just a solid plastic plate.
