I hope when I get a group home for autistic people to live in in the future, I can have the backyard absolutely crammed full of playground equipment and be sitting on the front steps every day smoking printer paper blunts, grass stems from tall roadside grass and smoking my wood stems. I also want to smoke my mini hookah that I have.
Smoke grass every day. Especially compared to road racing where the roads aren't trying to murder you. I'm just as impressed by the fact that these chassis can take such hits and still be OK enough to drive fast. there is no racing like rally racing, it truly represents the pinnacle of driving skill in motorsport.
The suspension really is impressive, I have no idea how it manages to deal with huge jumps and still deal with all the other smaller bumps flawlessly. Even down to how they land, the cars seem to hit the ground and flatten out almost immediately, rather than it being a hard impact or bouncy. Next season the cars are getting faster as well. They are allowing for a larger turbo restrictor, meaning they will be getting 380hp out of the 1.6l 4cyl engines. They are also making the cars wider to allow for better side impact protection as well as better handling and aerodynamics, they have also removed some of the suspension regulations at the same time to allow for better designs. Additionally they are allowing for an active centre diff (since currently all is mechanical) which is to help make the faster cars more drivable and possibly faster too. Should make for some really exciting footage, or spectacular viewing if anyone is lucky enough to see it for themselves.
I'm excited for sure. your right the cars dont seem to bounce, just become poised again for the next direction change. the bump stops probably play a big role in the ability to not have the frame damaged after 4 meter drops because the suspension bottoms out every single time. my sunburst rally won't take hits like that and stay straight.
I wonder if they are doing a Citroen and taking a year out of the sport while they develop something new. Its also a shame that Ford pulled out, as well as Subaru and Mitsubishi (and everyone else). But it is nice to see Toyota come back, was also good to see Hyundai return a couple years back too. --- Post updated --- Sweet potato is good
My phone just went off with an amber alert warning right next to my ear. It's about some car that got stolen in a state that I don't even live in...
Someone trew my coffee off my Desk during college, so now I have a huge coffee spot in my clothes :-(
