So, the other day I went out on my (abhorrently awful folding [hopefully temporary]) bike. It got dark and I noticed the front light was only bright enough to let other people know that I was there but not bright enough for me to see them. After almost mowing down a couple pedestrians on the way back to my flat I decided to do something about it. So I present to you, the 5V poundland powered USB bike LED torch. As suggested by the name the battery bank cost £1 and claims to have 1200mah @ 1A output. It also came with a free USB lead and lanyard to carry it with, however I butchered a broken USB lead and kept the new one. I drilled a hole in the back of the light and attached the wires to the circuit board (meaning it can still be used with 2 AAA batteries [make sure to disconnect USB power first]). The LED's and 8 pin chip both seemed pretty happy at 5v when I tested them on a wall wart the other day, so hopefully they won't melt inside the closure (although they didn't even feel warm after 5mins) As for how long the whole arrangement will last, I have no idea. Should be interesting to see what dies first though, the LED's from the extra voltage or the battery bank from the British weather. Outside of the USB ports which will be downwards facing the battery bank is a sealed unit, so hopefully should be fine. I am tempted to put a bit of Sugru around the ports and drill hole to help them a little though.
Semi re-capped the crossover in these Wharfedales, still waiting for the last cap's to arrive, they already sound a lot less tubby and muffled, bass is certainly a lot stronger and tighter, not as sloppy and the mid's sound more detailed. Testing the old caps and they're miles out of spec.
I wish you lived near me. I have a 100 watt tube amp I need to have re tubed. 2 6l6 tubes aren't expensive and neither are the 12ax7s but having someone else re biase them doubles the cost.
Since my instrument is in the shop I get to play a slightly old, yet nice intermediate one. I would it plays wonderfully in my hands, but my reed is causing too many tone and pitch problems. If I ever get the money, I'm hoping to get the "upgrade".
The exclusivity contract between EA and Porsche is now confirmed - yes, confirmed, as opposed to rumoured (ie. in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015) - to be ending this year. Now we'll finally see Porsche in games other than EA's games and Forza (and that itself was only possible since Forza's devs pay a LOT to sublicence Porsche) for the first time since 2000. It could also mean that Forza itself no longer has to include Porsche as a DLC to offset the hefty cost.
I recall that assetto corsa also features porche cars. Is it an similar situation to the forza one? EDIT: Also where did you read that? It's not that I don't believe you or something like that but I wanna know from who it was stated.
Interesting. EA is a really deplorable company all around. their best days are over decade behind them as far as I'm concerned.
Assetto Corsa is a weird one, don't really know much about it. Basically it seems more like an agreement where AC gives Porsche their game code for "Pro" simulators (ie. kiosks at Porsche events where you can drive their cars on a copy of AC with a nice driving rig I believe), while Porsche gives their presence in AC as a return. The other thing that let them get it was the expiry of EA's contract itself AFAIK. As for the source, this GTPlanet article mentions where it came from: https://www.gtplanet.net/porsche-pulls-plug-ea-exclusivity/
The wireless on my Moto G3 is completely atrocious. When streaming to my UE Roll over Bluetooth, the download speed throttles to 1mbps, and it won't even do the upload test in speed test. Very annoying when trying to listen to music on my speaker using YouTube. Even Spotify buffers like crap. I hope it's better in the Moto G4 Plus.
totally not relatable.... did that to my cat once, then the next day it turned round she hissed at it! --- Post updated --- just a quick question, why did microsoft ditch windows aero, in my opinion its beautiful, and with the quadsnap of windows 10 then windows 7 would practically be the perfect OS.
You could always get classic shell, then turn choose "glass" in taskbar, doesn't look as good but it's still very clean. Here's what mine looks like: It only applies to the taskbar, so no start menu or anything.
Aero is really nice. The Porsches in Assetto Corsa are also really nice, I got the triple pack of them meaning my game is slowly getting flooded with them as each pack gets released. But they drive really nicely and the interior detailing is very good. The Panamera (think that was a free update) is surprisingly nice to drive. The 918 is absolutely glorious to drive too. I hope the new tyre model gets pushed through to the older cars in the game soon though.
My Granddad just found this in his closet, a 1957 Chevy Corvette model kit we built together when I was a kid. I haven't seen this in years, it makes me so happy.
I had a customer with a Panamera turbo and he told me he got challenged at a light by a new corvette stingray. 3 times in a row he blew his doors off like he never even got off the line, all with his 10 year old son in the back seat. I'm willing to bet it makes more power than claimed because it's a porker.
My secondary school and sixth form switched to plastic trumpets for new players. I wasn't around for long enough to see how well they lasted, but in theory they don't dent or damage as easily as the metal ones and are cheaper. They sounded just like how I would expect a trumpet to sound, although since I don't play that instrument I honestly couldn't tell you what makes one trumpet better than another. All I ever did with trumpets was try and make them sound as good as possible in context of a song containing many other instruments. These: http://ptrumpet.com/
