Even if you do mean it in the other sense it really is the intent of what someone is saying as opposed to the words they use. If the word is used directly to try and offend another person then that's probably bad, if used in other contexts I see no issue with it. However it is fairly limited in its scope outside of intentionally causing offense.

While I believe in the First Amendment, some things shouldn't be said. People shouldn't be attacking others for their sexuality and their race.

Example, I heard a lot of bad things come from the Westboro Baptist Church. They say horrible things that shouldn't be said, and what I think the United States doesn't stand for. One thing I'll highlight is what they said about US Soldiers. Our troops has to be some of the bravest people in the world. So many of them have died for many causes. Families suffer because of their loss. Some children never get to know their mommies and daddies because they were killed on the battlefield. Some of them return with missing limbs, PTSD, and other types of war related injuries and side effects, which can cripple them for life. After all the US soldiers do for their country, this is how they are repaid? I'm sorry, but the First Amendment shouldn't apply to the Westboro Baptist Church.

Isn't Satan like, the master of evil? I think getting kicked out of Heaven like a drunk man at a bar says a lot about who Satan is.

    Sorry for the rant.

It would be unconstitutional to make the first amendment not apply to Westboro. Not excited to say that, but it's true.

Faggot has become a mainstream insult, you call someone a faggot regardless of their actual sexuality, besides as a Bi I could care less what someone calls me, I just put on my big boy boots and break their nose. But if it's actual harm on said person because of their sexuality that's a different matter.

Freedom of speech should apply to everyone. The moment you start dictating who it applies to is the moment you lose it.

Satan accepts everyone who god doesn't accept into heaven, that's pretty accepting in my books, plus he is cool with whatever sins you have committed :p (I would like to point out that I am not being serious about this before some one starts pulling out bible quotes)

Was just reading through that wikipedia page I posted a couple comments up, found this pretty amusing:
In the UK Cigarettes are also very commonly referred to as "Fags". Which I am sure has caused some confusion at some point, cause personally I hate Fags (of the cigarette variety).

Eh, its not really a big deal if you ask me, queer is another word that "used to be offensive" and its now something some gay people actually use to refer to themselves. I would say the vast majority of gay people wouldn't care about the word itself and more about the fact it would come from someone who is going out of their way to harass them, in which case its alot more than just a single word.

Its also the last thing that should be banned, this isn't Orwell's 1984. I mean yet at least.

I'm not even going to argue. Just deal with it, there's nothing offensive about being LGBT, it's just some word kids use to sound cool.
So I'll say it once, deal with it.

What I believe in, is exceptions, and if there's a reason to justify exclude something. Like I said, our soldiers do many things for our country, and they pay many prices for it, yet look at Westboro saying, "pray for more dead soldiers, thank god for dead soldiers, god hates America, thank god for 9/11 (one of the worst disasters in history, and they're happy it happened), yatta yatta." I think we have enough reasons to justify telling Westboro to STFU and stop insulting America, its people, and everyone else they offend. I don't see it as unconstitutional, I see it as doing the right thing.

I think that heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual people should all be treated the same. If someone calls someone homosexual or bisexual as an "insult", I never take it as an insult. You know why? Because If someone likes someone of the same gender, or someone of a different gender, honestly changes nothing about that person to me. If my friend came out to me as homosexual or bisexual, I honestly would give 0 ducks about it and treat them the same.

I wish we had more shocking adverts like these today. TV would be worth watching again.

You can't just forget about the first amendment when the words being said hurt your feelings.
You just can't do that. It angers me when people suggest you can. The terrorists who the soldiers are fighting, and who did 9/11, win when we lose our freedom.

You know what I Hate? When pepole go on stupid rants like this. Why can't we all get along? I'm a straight white male and apparently that makes me the devil to triggered liberals. They say "you are an unaccepting racist if you fit you're description!" What I say about that is, ok, A: I am not mean or unacdepting to ANY minorities. And B: is bieng triggered twords me any better than me being racist to you? It makes no sense. It's either too far to one side or too far to another.
