Huh, that's actually the first time I've ever seen a stock Morris Minor, around here they've all been built into drag cars.
In fairness, it was kept on the road for 4 years after the show which is more than what I would have expected. --- Post updated --- So I found out the Denon Envaya Mini is in fact "water resistant", which is enough for me since I don't plan on submerging it, so I decided to take the plunge (figuratively) All I can really say is that it is far better than it has any right to be for such a small device. The sound stage is surprisingly good and its not that bad at bass either, of course deep bass is out of its range. But with the device only being around 5cm tall I have no idea how it does so well. It must be said that when held in the hand it feels like a Xbox controller with how much it rumbles, good job it has soft rubber feet to avoid transmitting that to tables etc. The bass distortion when behind then device was my phones microphone, not the speakers.
Went shooting for the first time. Fired my friend's SKS and his 1943 Mosin-Nagant. Mosin kicks like a mule compared to the SKS but damn, SKS is REALLY fun to shoot. Hit the target first shot with the SKS. First time ever firing a real firearm.
The only Soviet rifle I own, and probably ever will, is a Yugoslavian Mosin. I've shot some SKS"s, but every one of them felt like they were made of pure Chinesium. Lately I've been looking for a Mini-14, but I can't seem to find any used, only $700 Brand new ones.
I believe his Mosin is a Yugo model to.... His SKS is literally Chinesium, it's a pre-1980s Norinco Type-56 Carbine technically. Fires really nicely. I was actually surprised when he told me where it was from. I don't have my FID so, no guns for me. For now.
What state are from from? I though only Illinois, Massatwoshits, and New Jersey required such crap. Reason #973 why I hate Illinois.
The Morris minor is so cute! I have always wanted a red convertible one! --- Post updated --- You dare insult the fair state of Massachusetts? We gave the world baked beans!
Massachusetts. Fun going up to New Hampshire and seeing all the stuff that is tagged "Not MA Legal". One store had a real Thompson M1921. Beautiful, of course not MA legal. Also saw an FN P90 and a USAS-12. I really don't mind the guns rules here. Could be worse. Stuff like what I listed above would be awesome to own but, I have no real use for anything full auto or the budget to shoot it regularly.
You dare insult the state of Massachusetts? they gave the world Baked Beans! Yeah, everyone buys stuff from Walmarts across the border, it's tax free in NH too!
A cut down Lee Enfield chambered in .22LR? That sounds like something you'd find stuck under the seat of a stolen Lexus with the serial number filed off.
Its an actual rifle but it fires a tiny cartridge. I do thing Australia's gun laws are a good thing, there is no gun crime to speak of really apart from a few gang things but nothing can stop that really. Australian car laws on the other hand...
Decided to try and improve the pen and paper setup (Exciting stuff, I know) So I swapped out the Wilko Functional paper for Rhodia paper. I am now using a UniBall Vision Elite for headings and for the body of the text have swapped the Uniball Signo 0.7 for a Signo DX. Also using the Vision Elite for doing strike throughs of achieved goals. Pretty pleased with how the result looks. To be honest I don't really think there is much that can be improved over this setup in terms of how the result looks and how nice it is to write with. So I guess the conquest for pens is finally over Now all I need to do is learn to write neatly... Maybe it can be improved with the >£30 pens, but frankly I have no interest in spending that sort of money on writing. £5 for the two pens is tolerable for me, more than that isn't really and will likely be very far into diminishing returns.
I'd love shooting as a hobby, but not interested in indoor ranges. I want to be sending .308 slugs 500 yards
I'd love to do some archery, it could easily be set up on my property and there is plenty of space to do it. But my mum (like most mums) thinks that it's too dangerous.
There seems to be a group of farmers in my area that go shooting in the fields every now and again. Couldn't tell you what they carry since I don't know my guns but some form of rifle with wood on (very specific, I know).
