Re: General discussion chat Heh heh heh. In ETS2 MP I was in another convoy today and some guy pissed me off. He was in front of me and going really slow so I overtook and that made him angry. A little while later my truck was totaled. I tpd to a repair shop, fixed my truck, and caught up to the convoy then rammed the guy so awesomely the guy in front of me complimented me. (He was streaming on Twitch.) (I have speedhack running the game at 1.25x so I can catch up slowly and overtake and stuff.) Anyway, anyone know of any good SSDs for like $50? (100+ GB would be nice.)
Re: General discussion chat so, for reasons of because i can, i installed a web pro app on the palmone, and then connected it to my computer, set it up so that my computer will share the internets with it, i can now access the internets on a pda from 2004 (except google, it crashes if i try to scroll down on google) PICTURES (Main Screen/Home Screen) INTERNETS MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Re: General discussion chat Yeah, that's what I was saying. I just got a little confused for whatever reason. - - - Updated - - - Make this happen tdev
Re: General discussion chat I got something similar: But it doesn't support any modern internet protocol (it needs an infra red modem) Its fully functional and the omni solve calculator is really excellent. I took it to France with me this summer so i could play solitaire and do some coursework since it has Microsoft word. Although i have used nicer keyboards in the past. It is the high end 32mb RAM model. With a 133mhz Hitachi processor. Solid metal case as well. It has a compact flash card inside it since the main storage is volatile and will be wiped if you run out of battery. Speaking af batteries it is still running on the original year 2000 battery, it also still holds a charge, i managed to take it to france without the charger and use it with the screen on for about 4 hours and get back and still have battery left. Personally i think its pretty awesome and tank like. Shame its a really obscure cpu meaning there are no apps available for it. It was a hand down from my uncle i got a few years ago.
Re: General discussion chat I think I have a Tungsten T, M100, M105, and IIIXE laying around. (Plus an Axim X50.) I used to love my Palm Tungsten E but then I got an iPod Touch and forgot all about them. (Like 3-4 years ago.)
Re: General discussion chat cool, my palm has a 200MHZ intel XScale PXA255 cpu, 16MiB of RAM/Storage (days of when if you lost all battery, you lost all info stored other then os) also still running on original battery from 2004 funnily enough it has tech that most cell phones are just now getting these days (IR for example) hmmm, i wonder if there's a remote control app for it
Re: General discussion chat Fuuckkk maaaan. I have a cold or some shit. I don't really feel that bad, but I'm tired. I slept all day today and I still wake up tired. I'm really hungry and thirsty, but I'm so fricken tired I don't wanna get up.
Re: General discussion chat IR is not a modern technology. It is the predecessor to Bluetooth, but when Bluetooth came out people forgot about it on mobiles. Its just that they are now binging it back so people can use their phones as a universal remote.
Re: General discussion chat i realize this, but pretty much all televisions and such use IR, so i personally think it would have made sense to start adding IR to smartphones and such a while ago, instead of recently
Re: General discussion chat Well, IrDA and the various protocols TV's operate on are pretty different. Still, IrDA on most chips is implemented as one of the more advanced functions of the UART peripheral, the external circuitry attached to the "UART" TX for IrDA would be the same as required for transmitting a TV remote code though. The stellaris launchpad I used for retrieving the RC receiver signal happens to support IrDA, I need to work out how to activate that. I just figured hitachi would rebrand an ARM core as Intel did in logosters device, but christ that really is an obscure chip. I need to get one of these older PDAs, preferably with a UART or IrDA on it.
Re: General discussion chat woot, found a remote app, a lot easier to program then a normal universal remote as well. instead of typing a code, i can program each button individually by settings the device in front of the ir sensor on the tv, click train buttons, choose the button i want to train, press a random button on the actual tv remote to see if the device beeps (if it does that means it can detect what signal is being sent out) tap the screen to go to step 2, press the button on the tv remote i want to program into the button i chose on the app, and i'm done (works pretty well also) @6677 well, i can definitely recommend a palmone device, the zire 31 i've been using is pretty awesome, and can still do some pretty nifty stuff despite it's age (and i believe the latest zire series is a zire 72, which comes with an internal camera, and a dialer app, as well as a pre-installed web browser, which if you wanted to use, you'll have to get a program such as softic PPP) (another thing to note is that for things like hotsync to work, you do have to get an updated 64-bit driver and program of 4.1.4e with 64-bit support, which i can link you to if you need)
Re: General discussion chat So I figured out why I had such horrible temps with my Hyper 212 Evo. Turns out I had the fan facing the wrong direction :/ So this is how I previously had the fan setup (with airflow direction arrows) The airflow was so horrible because the higher RPM CPU fan just stole all of the air away from the exhaust fan. There was no air being exhausted out the case previously. Because of this, the CPU fan was also starved and little to no air was being pushed through the heatsink. What was going through the heatsink was just being pushed back to the heatsink by the intake fans in the front. This is what it is like now (with airflow arrows) This should fix my problems by tenfold. Edit: Yay, I know idle between 26-31°C instead of 38-42°C.
